Hi,
I use 'text only' mode for my bible class. Sometimes when scrolling to the next line we lose our place. Are there line markers/pointers or indicators to show exactly which line to read next when scrolling up or down in text?
Thankyou
Odell

Welcome to the forums Odell.
To answer your question: No.
However, if you have the locator bar on (if not click the book cover icon at the top left and select it), you'll notice that in the upper right there are two arrows. To the immediate left of that is a selector for the amount you want to move. You can set this to one verse so that clicking the down arrow moves to the next verse. This won't get you line by line movement, but if verse by verse is good enough for your purposes, it may be your best solution for now.
Sometimes when scrolling to the next line we lose our place.

Wonder about using arrow keys for scrolling ?

I just tried this again, a single press of the arrow key = approximately, but not quite one line (a little more than one line for me). It starts to be a problem after about 5 pushes, and on the 6th the next line is half-hidden. I suppose this may be due to the zoom (I have mine set at 140% by default), but that's enough to tell me it's not a totally reliable method for scrolling one line at a time.

Appears half hidden depends on spaces in formatting so one arrow key press is approximately one line of text, which does not vary in vertical amount as bold lines and spaces in formatting scroll by (resulting in half hidden lines at times).
Hello Richard,
thanks so much for your help, you were right, it's not quite what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll suggest this one for people who like to use the text comparison mode like myself, thanks again.
The wheel on the mouse seems to work fine for scrolling. Actually I prefer to use the 'right scroll bar' for this purpose because it fits the next set of verses to be read in the window as long as you click within the scroll bar. Getting rid of the half lines, is one of the problems I'd like to solve as well; using a pointer wouldn't fix that problem, but would be a great help in locating the next verse to be read.
Thanks again
Although not specifically what you asked for, the space bar does an excellent job of scrolling a page at a time for keeping track of where you are. Just an alternative.
Bro. Mark,
thanks for your help: I wasn't aware that I could use the space bar for this purpose. Actually I prefer to use the left mouse button for this purpose because one click will move the entire text up or down to the next set of scriptures to be read, then I can use the scroll wheel to adjust the text in the window to see the complete verse if its not in the window. The problem with doing this is that sometimes other readers tend to lose their place if you don't look at the scripture number before scrolling; thats where a pointer, or scripture marker come in handy.
