PC / Android Sync Questions

I am running Logos 4 on my PC and on my Android Samsung Charge.  Have a couple of questions: (1) Is there any relationship between setting, preferences, etc. on my PC that affect my Android? (2) I had to reinstall Logos 4 on my PC as I did a clean install of Windows 7.  I am seeing differences on my Android.  Possible?  (3) When pressing on a word on my Androd, I get the Strong number, definition and Bible Word Study pane.  When I press Word Study, it now goes to my Webster Dictionary.  It use to go to my Strong's Lexicon where I could link to TDNT.  What happened?  (4) How does one set 'what to look for first' on the Androd?  Things seem to be very hard coded.

Thanks for the help.

    Hi Greg

I am running Logos 4 on my PC and on my Android Samsung Charge

Just to clarify, it is Logos 4 on the desktop and the Logos app on the Android (with the current shipping version being 0.9.4. What version are you running?

    (1) Is there any relationship between setting, preferences, etc. on my PC that affect my Android?

Not really. Things like "last position in book read" should synchronise between the two environments.

Also, things such as prioritization and "preferred Bible" should synchronise but this isn't working yet.

    (2) I had to reinstall Logos 4 on my PC as I did a clean install of Windows 7.  I am seeing differences on my Android.  Possible?

I can't think of any reason why reinstalling Logos 4 on your Windows system would affect behaviour on Android.

    (3) When pressing on a word on my Androd, I get the Strong number, definition and Bible Word Study pane.  When I press Word Study, it now goes to my Webster Dictionary.  It use to go to my Strong's Lexicon where I could link to TDNT.  What happened?

This will depend on whether the resource you are using has a Reverse Interlinear capability relevant to the passage you are looking at. For example, NRSV has a full RI capability, NIV (84) has one for the New Testament, NIV (2011) does not have one at all. Does this explain what you are seeing?

    (4) How does one set 'what to look for first' on the Androd?  Things seem to be very hard coded.

Agreed - as above, it should be based on prioritisations within your Logos 4 environment but this is not working yet. Hopefully it will be some time in the future but I don't remember seeing any commitment from Logos to do this

    Hope this helps

Graham, thanks for the information, it was what I needed to know. I assume I am running the current version, as it is the most current on the Android Market.  I switched over to NASB from ESV.  ESV has all my links to lexicons, TDNT, etc.  I like the ESV but our pastor preaches from NASB.  Oh Well.  One more question: When linking to TDNT from my lexicon, is there a way to go to the Unabridged, i.e. Little Kittle?

One more question: When linking to TDNT from my lexicon, is there a way to go to the Unabridged, i.e. Little Kittle?

The "Little Kittel" is the Abridged one-volume known as TDNTA. If prioritised it could be accessed from your lexicon instead of TDNT, but we already know that can't happen!

However, if you have a linked split screen with the lexicon and TDNT loaded you could open TDNTA in place of the lexicon and it should go to the same reference as TDNT.
