What do I get in Logos 3 if I purchase a Logos 4 package?

I have a question on the backward "compatibility" of Logos base packages.

If I purchase Platinum, will my Logos 3 license upgrade at least to Gold version, so that I can use all those add-ins, some of which, as I remember, are not available for Logos 4 yet?

I understand that Logos 3 and 4 do share book licenses, but what about software features?

Yes what you have in Gold L3 transfers to Gold L4. You should know that some add-ins have been reworked and are now resources instead, but the same functionality and information is still there.

Not all software features from Libronix are in Logos4. Some are still in development, and will be released in the next few months. Check here and see if your questions are answered: http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures

Well, but I do not have Gold L3 yet, only Leader's Library in L3.

When you look in your L3 Account Summery, or how it's called there (I haven't used L3 for a while [:)] ) you will see that your license is valid for Platinum LE. When you copy manually books like Baker Exegetical Commentaries etc. to you Libronix DLS Resources folder, they will be open for you to be used in L3. I did that and it works.

Bob has stated that they are working on making some of the additional resource of L4 backwards compatible with L3. Because some take unique advantage of the new functions of 4 not all will be able to go through this process, but I imagine most of the "book" resources would. I don't know about a timetable.

To further clarify, for those resources it would give your RIGHT NOW if you can download it from the web in 3.0 format, you will be able to use it now, but more will be coming down the pike, as i understand it.

Yes, I was to add that it works only if books exist in the libronix format, which are many (most) of them. I went through the list of Platinum resources and look them up at the logos.com and downloaded those which I like to have in the L3.

Hm... you might try this link: http://www.logos.com/media/update/LogosAddinsAutoUpdate.lbxupd and you will see. You might get some things unlocked.

EDIT: First you might try to synchronize licenses in your v3.

The Scholar's Gold (and Platinum) "LE" collections contain licenses for all the LDLS3 addins that were included in the Gold (ND) collections for LDLS3 (for just this situation). I can't remember offhand exactly (so I may be wrong), but I think upgrading from Leader's to Gold will add Sentence Diagramming, Biblical Analysis, and Syntax Tools to your LDLS3 installation. Sync your licenses and run the "addins" update script that Bohuslav linked to (after purchasing the upgrade) to install the new addins in LDLS3.

We will be releasing a LDLS3 update script that downloads and installs these resources in LDLS3 soon; some of these new resources still need to be recompiled in LBXLLS format.
