Logos 4 Help File / Panel not working...cannot search. [Win]

Hi,

THE PROBLEM: Just talked to Logos on the phone, bcz I recently needed to use the Help File / Panel. Put in a word in the search box, but got no drop-down box, and the panel itself went blank. Re-opened by pressing F1, things show up as it should (links work as well), tried other search words (command, shortcuts, open...), everything in the panel just diasppears.

OTHER TRIES:

Talking to Logos, they tried it, and they also had the same problem. Also told me this is not something they've seen before.

While talking to Logos, I thought Help File should be like other resources, and wondered if I could use the Search Panel, but didn't know if Help File would be an option. It is an option, but searching doesn't come up with anything.

I haven't used help in some time, so can't say if the recent update [4.5a (Build 4.51.0.2048)] and recent updating of some resources is the cause.

HARD OPTIONS: After searching Logos-related websites for solution and not finding anything, uninstalled and reinstalled Logos (minus downloading resources). No change. Then, having had other issues with Windows, installed OS on new drive to run computer system, and had a chance to do a clean install of Logos, even downloaded all the resources, but still no change. [Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit]

I can confirm this is broken. Hopefully the folks you talked to on the phone will pass on this as a bug report to development, but you might also want to edit your post (click the More button beside your post, and choose Edit, within a few hours of having made the post; after that it becomes un-editable) and add "BUG: " prefix to the subject line, so it will be noticed by the folks who scan the forums looking for bugs.

Last Wednesday witth the download it said also the help files for Logos 4 were updated but there was no link to the files, is this the same problem as you all have or is this a failure to fix the bug. I can't find any help files in Logos 4 leave alone how to access them.

This download fixed the problem as far as I can see

I can't find any help files in Logos 4 leave alone how to access them.

Click on the small question mark at the top right of the screen and select "Logos Bible Software Help"

or just press F1

Good news: Logos fixed next day, amazingly [:)] (I say that bcz I'm still waiting for a different fix for more than 2 years now? 3?)

So-so news: I couldn't find my post after getting the fix, to tell ppl that it had been fixed, so I thought someone took it off, with the fix in place. Did everyone get that? [:)] Just happened to be at the Forum looking at something else (March now), and...there it was! With replies! And I'd moved on, LOL. Don't know why my searching on the forum didn't turn up the other thread. But then, maybe I wouldn't have actually CALLED Logos, but just waited instead.

THANKS!: Anyways, I wanted to thank everyone here, and me bad that I wasn't. And thanx for the FYI regarding "BUG" in the line.

There has been an intermittent bug in the forum where threads seem to disappear for a while (they show up in Google searches but when you try to click on them it looks like the thread has been deleted) and then they come back. It was happening to me a couple of times a day every day about 3 weeks ago or so. Hasn't happened again since, but then maybe I haven't been doing as much searching lately for threads I'd previously posted.
