How long does the Platinum install and indexing take

I have about 2 Ghz of speed and 1 G Ram. I'm upgrading from the Gold LE to the Platinum. How long should I expect this to take. My internet provider is very quick. I'm downloading this - should I wait till tonight before doing this and let it run while I'm in bed? Any suggestions would be helpful.

More RAM would make it go quicker...

I upgraded from Gold to Platinum. I have a netbook, Acer Aspire one, it took about 23 hours from start to finish.

I upgraded from Silver to Plat. The download was done in the evening and took about 4 hours. Then it started to index right before I went to bed. When I got up in the morning L4 was running and opened to the homepage. Very easy for me. I did not use the computer once I started the download.

Well, L4 is way too new to stop playing with it right now, so I'll do the overnight express thing and have pleasant dreams of more books when I wake up. it's like Christmas but a month earlier. Way too kewl. Thanks for all your suggestions.

I must have a really fast lap-top. I don't think it took over an hour to both download and index the Platinum. I also decided to get the Portfolio and it didn't take even an hour to download and index. With everyone saying how many hours it took for them, I wonder if I got everything?

Two questions:

1. how fat is the internet pipe coming into your home? (Speedtest.net)

2. What in the world laptop are you running on?

With everyone saying how many hours it took for them, I wonder if I got everything?

Click Your Library icon and look by the input box to see how many resource you have, compare that with the platinum list.

Although Portfolio contains about 420 extra resources not in Platinum, these resources are only about 800MB (because they're all text; no images/media), so it's a relatively short download to make the jump from Platinum to Portfolio. (I don't know what the indexing time for building a supplemental index of just those resources would be, but under an hour on a fast machine sounds plausible.)

I am downloading Logos 4 this week. I am averaging about two gigs per day. I hope to be done in another two days. My internet is via radio transmission. I think they use software to slow big downloads. Before we had via the telephone company, but the service never came close to reaching the contracted speed. I started in the beta program, but couldn't keep up with the changes. I thought about waiting till we get back to the States in December, but decided that with patience I would get the program and resources downloaded in mid-November.

My DSL is the very slow version (but also cheap!), so the download from L3 Gold to L4 Platinum took something like 28 hours or so. However, the indexing took three or four hours with a Lenovo ThinkPad T500 (Windows 7 Professional 64, C2D P8600 2.40GHz, 15.4" WXGA w/ LED, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 320GB HDD 7200RPM).
