I had not planned to buy the Scofield collection but may have to reconsider for sentimental reasons. I represented Oxford University Press (among other Bible publishers) to bookstores for 12 years. I sold a lot of Scofields during that time.

I thought about it but just can't seem to justify buying Scofield, even though it's an amazing deal. What do you non-dispys (like me) see that's making you get it (I don't want to miss out on anything)?

As I mentioned previously, I sold Scofields to bookstores for a dozen years. I did not agree with some of the theological viewpoints, but pointed out to my customers that the reference system included a good summary on major Bible doctrines. You could start with an occurence of a subject, see the first occurence, follow the references to the summary and see what the Scripture said and compare it to Scofield's summary.

There were not many other study Bibles available during the early decades of the Scofield. Many others followed some of the same features and added other features until we have a huge amount to choose from now.
