Finding out how to locate the CONCORDANCE feature in Logos4 for Mac

I have been using Logos for about 14 months, yet I seen to have an electronic disability. Perhaps it is consequence of being a techno-neanderthal. Been to Camp 1, have the Camp 2 discs, but still cannot figure out how to find the concordance for English words, and then back to Greek and Hebrew words. There must be some easier way than going to a print concordance and then searching in the Word-by-Word feature in the Exegetical Guide. HELP!

I haven't used a concordance in years, but if I wanted to do what you want to do I use the Bible Word Study (BWS) from the right-click menu of any reverse interlinear. Note that not all Bibles have reverse interlinears and of those that do, not all have an OT reverse interlinear yet.

Here's what I do: Right-click on English word in reverse interlinear. On the right side of the pop-up window make sure the English word is selected, run BWS on the English word. This shows the various Greek/Hebrew words that this English word translates. You can then click on the various Hebrew/Enlish words for sample text of the translations.

You can also do this for original language words, by selecting "lemma" from the right click menu (make sure that you're choosing the right lemma, as sometimes a the right click menu will show more than one possibility - especially in Hebrew, but sometimes the direct article shows up in Greek too!). Then run the BWS on the original language word, This will show you all the English words used in that translation for that particular original language word.

Well, I see you're using a Mac. This is how it works on Logos4 Windows.

If I am understanding your issue correctly this is what I think you need to do in Logos

In Logos, I don't believe there is a particular concordance for English words that you can look up. If you wanted to look all the references in a particular bible for the word resurrection you would first do a search for 'resurrection'

Click on the search icon, make sure that the search option 'Bible' is selected and type in the english word 'resurrection' then run the search 'click enter'

Once the search has run, you will now have all the references to 'resurrection' in your selected bible. One the search results screen if you press the word 'analysis' this will then allow you to see all the greek/hebrew words underlying the english words.

I've attached some screenshots to help you visualise this, also Mark Barnes has a video on searching that you may find helpful too.

Thanks Paul, that was helpful too. Another way at what Paul is suggesting is to select your word from the Bible text, right click and select "search this resource." This can be done for both English and original language words (in a reverse interlinear).

The BWS option has the nice feature of letting you see all the original language words that are translated by a single English word, or all the English words that translate an original language word. Between the two, you should be able to dig pretty deep into a word's usage and meaning.

I wholeheartedly agree with the other posters on this and note that I haven't used a concordance since I began using Logos many years ago. I will not, however, that if you feel the absolute need for a concordance, there is one for the NASB

Well, I see you're using a Mac. This is how it works on Logos4 Windows.

Works the same using Logos 4 Mac.

Logos currently has six English Bibles with reverse interlinear tagging in the Old and New Testament, which have an Interlinear tag in my Logos library: AV 1873, ESV, KJV 1900, NASB95, NKJV, and NRSV.

For screen shot on 27" iMac, opened my English Interlinear collection first to show English Bibles that have right click access to original language lemma tagging (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek). Next opened ESV to Php4.4 followed by right click, click lemma, click Bible Word Study (BWS), which shows 74 occurrences in the New Testament plus 75 occurrences in the Old Testament (Septuagint). In BWS, could click on a ring segment to show verses with English translation. Also can click "74" or "75" to graph results (to see lemma usage pattern in different Bible books). Back to ESV, right click again (lemma already selected previously), then Search this resource, which opened a Bible search in ESV, then changed resource to my Interlinear Bibles collection. Looking at right click pop-up in ESV, noted had some space on screen, so opened Lexham Discourse Greek New Testament (LDGNT) and enabled several Logos Greek Morphology visual filters in ESV and LDGNT. Then one more right click for screen shot; added arrow to show cursor location.

When cursor hovers in a Logos resource with morphological tagging, information appears in grey bottom border on screen.

By the way, BWS has Textual Searches section, which shows lemma usage in more resources, including => Qumran Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls Database , => The Apostolic Fathers: Greek Texts and English Translations , => The Works of Philo: Greek Text with Morphology and => Perseus Classics Collection (1,114 vols.)

Note: my Interlinear Bibles collection has Bibles with Logos Greek Morphological tagging (lbs), which includes English Reverse Interlinear Bibles that have New Testament tagging: LEB, NIV84, and NLT.
