Passage Guide keeps switching from Zechariah 12 to Nahum 3:18-19 when scrolling through a commentary

Hello all,

First of all I'd like to thank the Logos developers very much for their hard their hard work on Logos 4, it is very nice!

Ok. I've noticed the following bug in Logos 4.5a (4.51.0.2048) on Mac OS X:

For some unknown reason, when scrolling through a commentary in the Passage Guide, Logos keeps jumping from the passage I'm working on (e.g. from Zechariah 12) to Nahum 3:18-19. It is quite annoying and I have tried several times to restart Logos, or to unlink all books and then reconnect them in linked set A. But to no avail... Logos keeps switching from Zechariah 12 to Nahum 3:18-19 (and sometimes back) when scrolling through the commentary (Commentary of the Old Testament, from Keil&Delitzsch).

I am using a linked set A with some Bibles (NKJV, AV, NBG1951, ESV, SVV), two commentaries (The Outline Bible, Commentary of the Old Testament), and the Text Comparison window.

Attached are some logs that hopefully have captured this behavior...

Greetings and thanks for looking into this bug,

samuel

Text Comparison doesn't always play well with link sets. Try changing it from "A" to "Follow", and let me know if that fixes your issue.

    Thanks for your suggestion!

I changed it from "A" to "Follow" but unfortunately it still gives this same weird behavior.

Even if I unlink Text Comparison, by changing from "A" to "None", the commentary keeps changing from Zechariah 12 to Nahum 3:18-19.

Could it perhaps be related somehow to the way this commentary is tagged?

To be more precise, I now notice that while scrolling through the commentary, the page itself doesn't jump, but the textfield indicating the passage does change from Zechariah 12 to Nahum 3:18-19. Maybe this then causes other windows/tabs within the same linked set to jump to the passage in Nahum?

I'm going to look further into this tomorrow...

    Welcome [:D]

Using Logos 4.5b Beta 2 on Mac, can replicate verse location changing in "Commentary on the Old Testament" while scrolling: Zechariah 13:2-6 is followed by Nahum 3:18-19 then by Zechariah 13:7-14:21  Appears Table of Content (ToC) entry for "Judgement of Refinement for Israel, and Glorious End of Jerusalem--Ch. 13:7-14:21" has a Bible milestone tag for Nahum 3:18-19 as does ToC entry for "Israel's Conflict and Victory, Conversion and Sanctification--Ch. 12:1-13:6" and the rest of ToC entries in Zechariah, Haggai, Zephaniah, and Habakkuk, except Introduction's.  The ToC entries in Micah, Jonah, and Amos have Joel 3:21 while Joel ToC entries lack verse tagging.

By the way, my use of linked sets has reduced since learned how to use "+" to quickly open a Bible or Commentary to a verse, see thread => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/46817/347806.aspx#347806

Thanks! I'm beginning to feel welcome already :)

Ok, this explains it well. So there are some missing/wrong ToC entries and milestone tags in the "Commentary on the Old Testament".

(On a sidenote, I just replicated this same behavior in Logos 4.5a on Windows, so it's definitely not platform related.)

    Now I'm wondering:

How can I bring this bug to the attention of Logos' developers and/or book editors... or is it just enough to post it here at the logos community forum so they can read it?

Suggest email to Logos 4 Feedback => http://www.logos.com/support/reportaproblem with reference to this thread, which allows email to be forwarded within Logos.

Thank you for reporting the issue!  I'll make sure it gets to the correct department for correction.
