In the process of loading L4 to a dell laptop.
In regards to the resources can I save time by copying the folder over to the dell?
Not exactly,
In this wiki page: http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers
Method 3 comes close to what you are trying to do. But it will require Indexing.
If you use Method 2, you will not even need to reIndex. EDIT: providing your L4 version is the same on both computers.
yeah I know, the indexing I can't get away from. If I remember correctly when I did the netbook that the resources were part of the data folder - but the indexing was a culprit I could not bypass.....Thanks..
when i use Method 2 my Dell (Inspiron) doesn't reIndex.
EDIT: the key is to pay close attention to this line
woohoo. Interesting. The last time I did this it setup L4 with no resources but then it was needing updated to the current release. I did not pay attention to the process and it bypass'd the straight loading of L4 and went striaght to the downloading of resources - oh well alls well that ends well....atleast we know it installs the current release....thanks.
hey I am going to try and beat the system. I am going to stop the process of the resources dwnload and just copy the folders over. everything should be the same release so it should work..I'll let ya know.

KEWL. Just beat the indexer and everything works and no problems.
1)did the installer from the wiki page-
2)Close the 'downloading resources"-
3)copied existing folders to an external and loaded to the Logos4 folder on the dell
4)reboot the dell
5)opened L4 -only got the sync notice and then it opened the same as I closed on the IBM
6)NO indexing etc., etc.
Done.
[Y] Alright!
