After Logos uninstall 272MB remains. How come?

I uninstalled Logos for Android a while back, but just discovered that 272 MB of book covers, downloaded resources, etc remained on my phone and I don't remember the option to keep or uninstall all files associated with Logos. Is there one?

I understand your desire to keep users from having to re-download the same stuff IF they ever want to go back to using Logos, but what if they don't? 272 MB is a lot of storage in a cell phone where each MB counts. Logos is not an average program - it can leave HUGE amount of data behind.

have always found the opposite, might they belong to that "drab-green" other program, beacause that does also leave files behind.. lots of them

On the Kindle Fire, before uninstalling any program, one should go to Settings \ More \ Applications. Then a long hold on the specific application brings up the Application Management Page. There one can Clear Data from Storage and Clear the Cache. Then one can uninstall. My Logos Android App shows 16.62 Mb for the Application and 688 Kb of Data for a total of 17.29 Mb. My Cache shows 372 Kb.

See if your cell phone has a similar Application Management page. Then re-install Logos, go to that App Management page first and delete all the data. Then uninstall.

how many button pushes is it exactly? How come we can't have just one: "Would you like to delete ALL user data?" Oh, wait, make it two: "Are you sure?" would be nice as well.

No, it is definitely Logos. But I may be unfair to accuse Logos. Does Android prohibit developers to do a clean uninstall? Are we always supposed to Clear Data manually before uninstalling? Can someone confirm?

On the Kindle Fire most Apps have very little data in relation to the total space available. Thus, even though most leave orphan data, it is irrelevant. However, if one is installing and uninstalling Apps frequently or with large App databases like Logos, going to the Application Managemen Page and first deleting data is the best way to go.

In fact I have learned by bad experience, if an App is misbehaving (i.e. waking too much and draining the battery), then deletion of the data without uninstalling may cure the problem. It appears some Apps continue to build the database over time and reach a critical level which causes misbehavior. Then deleting the data allows the building phase to start over.

I can see a potential problem with Logos by over downloading too many resources which are never used after first installing. Then deleting all data and starting over with just the few resources one actually uses may also make sense. Right now in Logos, if one wants to avoid going to the Application Management Page, one must delete each resource individually. Hopefully, a Resource Management page will be available sometime in the future within the Logos App.
