I am running L4 on 2 machines and each one has a different home page- diesn't everyone see the same material?

Actually; no.
Mostly it looks like excerpts from your own library, but depending on the screen size...the material "shifts" to new pages and such...do this: check how many pages your home page is, then shrink your logos window down to half that size and see what it does to page amounts....
The only identical information will be the blog posts I think. Everything else is randomized.
