Not sure what is causing this crash. It happened prior to the 4.5a update as well. This has been consistent in the last 5 times or so I have loaded the program. For the most part I use my iPad to read, but I like to keep my program up to date as well. When I load it up, it loads fine but after a few minutes (1-3) Windows tells me Logos has failed and it has to be closed. Log files are included in my post. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Thanks.

My computer specs are:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Processor: Intel Q9550

Memory: 8Gb

Video Card: NVidia GTX9800+

Hard Drive: WD 1TB

    Eric,

Welcome to the Forums. All the errors are the same and seem to have something to do with note files and NotesManager in particular. The error is:

    Error ID: 2915
Error detail: FormatException: The string 'bible+niv.68.1-68.1.11' has an invalid format.

I haven't seen that before and since we don't want to mess up your note files, it will be best to contact Tech Support and refer to this thread unless someone else comes up with a solution beforehand.

For the future is is helpful to have a full set of logs which can be built and maintained by permanently enabling diagnostic logging. See this wiki article on how to do that: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

If you do need to contact Tech Support, please let us know exactly what the problem was and how it was resolved for future reference.

This crash is caused by document indexing, which starts approximately two minutes after you launch the app. It appears that you have a highlight or note on 2 Cor 1:1-11 in the NIV, which is causing a problem for some reason.

You may be able to work around this by:

    1. Launch Logos 4
    2. Open the NIV84 or NIV2011 (depending on which you have in your library, and which the note/highlight is on)
    3. Go to 2 Cor 1
    4. If you see a highlight covering vv1-11, right-click it and choose "Remove annotations" on the context menu (at the bottom right).

It's possible that Logos 4 won't allow you to complete these steps, because it considers the reference in the Notes document to be malformed. If this is the case, it's likely that this note was synced from your iOS device. In that case, open Logos on your iPhone/iPad, navigate to 2 Cor 1 in the NIV, tap the highlight, choose Edit Highlight, scroll down, and tap Delete Note. Once this syncs to your desktop, Logos 4 on Windows should stop crashing.

    Bradley,

First, thank you for the tip. You were right, Logos 4 would not let me access that note. In fact, right now Logos will not let me access any passage at all. The moment I go to the library window it crashes. I did indeed create the notes in question on my iPad, I did go in and delete them. Logos for Windows seems to be syncing the data but it doesn't seem to be fixing the problem. I'm still getting the same crash report. An additional advice? Thanks again.
