You will need to manage your Library in Logos unlike WordSearch which makes your decisions for you. You cannot arrange Library in folders and subfolders like WordSearch is but you can use the Collection tool to create collections in any way you want. Books can be in more than one collection if that suits you. You can learn the syntax in Library to find a book more quickly than scrolling for it. For example author:xxx or title:xxx typed in the Library find field will bring up resources with that author or word in the title.

You have a learning curve ahead of you since Logos is a good bit different than WordSearch, but there are good videos and much help in the wiki. Logos Forum MVP Mark Barnes has done some great video tutorials to hel users get started. http://www.logos4training.com/

The wiki TOC can be found here: http://wiki.logos.com/Table_of_Contents__

It will take time but you will be pleased with Logos after adjusting from WordSearch.

Are ya befuddled. confounded. discombobulated.? [:(]  Well by all means it is okay, Really it is.

You have went to a tier 1 Bible software program, from what [maybe] WS10 or 9. I feel ya, really I do. Just take your time and peruse the vid's and read what you can digest.

There will definitly be a major learning curve, but as you progress it will get easier....the jargon will change slightly but 'Collections' - 'Resources' - 'Library' - etc., will still mean slightly the same. 'Desktops' here are called 'Layout' and 'Desktop Manager' is called 'Layouts' which is located at the upper right of your L4 screen.

Just ask for help when ya need it - we will do what we can to help.....[:D]

Welcome to the world according to Logos [H]...I hope you haven't totally abandoned WORDsearch because there are a few things that WS does that Logos doesn't do (yet). Your transition to Logos will be quite a bit different than WS. I still run WS and also have Logos just because many of my preacher friends try to tell me that they can't afford Logos, but have several $$$$ invested in WS and they often ask me for help in WS. There are some books available in WS that aren't available (yet) in Logos, but they are getting to be less and less.

Have fun with the program and take your time to get the hang of it. After a while you will be thinking just how much you use Logos and how "easy" it is.

You can click on the "Type" heading at the top of you library and Logos will show your library in collapsed headings very similar to what WS does (I there isn't a Type heading right click on the heading bar and add it) Logos also has a variety of search options in the Library (Type:Bible to just show bibles, Type:english to show only english language resources.  and they can be combined,  Type:Bible AND Language:English to show bibles and not show original language fragments).  I also use WS due to a few resources that Logos doesn't have (I like the CBL to quickly look up things).  Like most high end programs, Logos has a learning curve but the level of study that can be done is worth the effort.

If you're just wanting to read the Bible and not do study on a passage, your best bet is probably to open up the library (command-L on a Mac; probably control-L or similar on Win), and then typing in the abbreviation or name of your favorite translation to pull it up.  If you want to study a passage, then type the passage reference in the "Go" bar on the homepage.  It will bring up the passage in your preferred translation (set in the preferences), as well as a default commentary and other great tools.  There's plenty of other great features in Logos, but those two will probably be your best friends for a while.  (At least they are for me)
