Syncronizing screens

I'm new to Logos, so I don't even know what everything is called yet. I had L3 for about month, and was just learning to use it.

Anyway, in L3, my commentary screen and bible screen scrolled together (i.e. were synchronized). They aren't in L4. How do I link them up?

And has anybody else found the help file in L4 to be as useless as I have? It seems you have to know all the Logos jargon to look anything up.

Help! I spend too much money to just throw this thing away!

On the upper left of a resource tab is what looks like a book cover. Click on that and you'll see an option to select a synchronization group. So pick "A" in your Bible, then do the same for your commentary and click "A" there too. The should be synchronized now.

Is that what you were looking for?

Regarding Help: you're probably right. Writing help-files is sometimes the hardest part of the program. As far as I know, the help files are still being developed. They aren't totally useless, just not as helpful as they could be.

In the meantime, your best help file may be here in the forums. Just ask and somebody probably knows how to answer your question.

Yes, I think that helps. I'll have to wait till I get home to try it...L4 blue screens my work computer so I can't use it here. (I'm working with CS on that the last couple days.)

J B, I'd strongly advise you to watch all the videos. Not only do they help, but they use the Logos terminology. I've watched some several of them more than once just to catch that.

I watched them all, and they are great for the power features, but do little toward the day-to-day use of Logos. I'm new a it.

But I do understand the importance of jargon. I'll try to pick it up better.

Check out the wiki, as well. Over time (I know that patience thing is being sorely tested in all of this) they'll have a nicely organized set of instructions. http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Bible_Software_Wiki

You may find some of the things on the Facebook "site" helpful: Search in Facebook for "Logos Version 4 New Users Group"

Ask any question you want here in the forum. There are a bunch of Forum Junkies that hover around waiting to answer questions. No question is dumb.

Logos is pretty easy to use, but has incredible power and depth and lots of things you can do to make it very individualized. But lots of that takes time to learn and remember.
