Heavier Font for Readability

I am running the Android app on my Asus Transformer Prime. The font chosen to render the text in the Android app is "light" in letter with narrow strokes, such as "a," "r," and "y." Can a heavier font be used to increase readability? I am not sure the attached screen shot will adequately show what I see on my screen, but I include it anyway.

Being able to choose a VERY large font would be very nice.  My wife is sight impaired and reads her Kindle Fire at the largest font setting.  Unfortunately, Logos does not have a font that is near that size.  Its true, that the formatting gets real problematic, but being able to read a bad format is better than not being able to read at all.  I guess, she will have to continue with audio for her scripture reading.

The goal should be to match the range of fonts that are available on the book reader for the device.
