I read today that blog Logos sent to advocate using forums as a resource. I have benefitted from the forums myself.
However, if forums are to be presented as a resource, there is a corresponding need to improve them so that information can be found more quickly. I am not entirely sure as to what would be the best way to do this, perhaps an advanced search feature that allows us to narrow down results?
As it is, it is too time-consuming to sort through piles of posts and replies in hopes of finding an answer. Often the answer is not there or buried deep. Other times there are duplicate threads and new readers turn in circle where the answer has already been provided somewhere else.
Perhaps the ability to consolidate threads that duplicate a topic could help. I don't know.
But in any case, though I have found answers by this method. It is a frustrating experience (like searching in a pile of old stuff in the attic). Those of us who use Logos 4 for work don't have the time to do this. A case in point: I discovered today that the "more" link of the "Definition" section of the Word Study Guide gave me results in topical resources and in Vine's, not just in Bible dictionaries. I thought this was a gain as compared to the topic search frustrations and wanted to share this with others. Then I thought perhaps it is already posted. How do I find out? I started to look and gave up shortly after.
