Automatic Updating Not Working

My L4 is still at SR-5; SR-6 was released yesterday. I've had my computer on all afternoon. I typed in "Update now"; started and re-started L4, several times. Left it alone for several hours. No downloads that I know of. No prompts to install. From what I have read this is not the expected result. Have I failed to do something? It is set for internet use and automatic downloads.

If you've done all that - you should have an update. I think you've done everything you can. Any chance there's a firewall blocking you?

Not sure why, but this just seems to happen from time to time. I've had this behavior too. If you're still not updating, when was the last time you rebooted? (It's amazing how many problems can be solved by rebooting the system.)

I don't know what's gone wrong, but perhaps you can try to direct install the update this way?

More info. I updated BWorks8 successfully. I opened L3 and went through the program and used check for updates and that worked. (I had one resource show up.) Up until now, all systems have worked on L4, i.e. downloading resources and program updates. I can't even find the "script" on the WIKI or FAQ to use to update and I tried to search the forums for it.

Thanks, Rich. I just did it 10 minutes ago. I'll wait for awhile now since it can take up to 30 minutes for the automatic update to "hit".

May be a stupid question: is your L4 set up to the Automatic Downloads on YES and Use Internet on YES? (2 separate items in the setup).

Yes, Bohuslav, it sure is. It's not a stupid question. I guess my concern is not "I have to have this update now" but more like, why isn't it doing what it is supposed to? And then I subtract the word "science" out of the term "computer science". And I won't call it an art form.

I, eventually, did it through the link. Automatic updating did not work via L4 and I don't know why. I'll wait to see if it works next time out.
