Being a Win 7 Tablet user & a very high res desktop user, I tend to use column view a bit. However, when images get compressed in order to fit in the columns, they often become completely unreadable.
Perhaps a way to solve this is to give users a right-click menu option to open that image in a floating window?? Ref
