Hello! I,m new to working with Logos 4 Bible software and can't seem to know how to find books in the library. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Welcome [:D]
Wonder if installation is complete ? download of resources plus indexing ? Wiki has Getting Started with Logos => Installation + Indexing
Wonder how many resources are in your Logos library ? Wiki has => Library page.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Hi Marvin
Welcome to the forum.
As KS4J writes – You do need to let a new installation of Logos finish the indexing process before you will get full access to your library.
Make sure that the little logo has removed itself from the task bar at the top of the screen (it is usually towards the left of the group on the right.
If Logos has finished and you are still having difficulty come back with a more specific question and we will do what we can to help.
I may be working on to simple of a level here, and KS4J & Mike might be right in asking the more complicated question, but are you just wondering the best way to find a book in your library? If that is the case then type the title of the book in the top of the Library menu (the open book icon) and that should narrow down the list to only books with those words in the title/description.
First i type the book title after I clicked the library icon. It gives me nothing. Do I have to purchase more software in order to get Logos to cooperate with me? I purchased Logos 4 Bible Software because the class I am currently taking at MBI required it and they assign us projects to use Logos among other sources. All I'm trying to do is use Logos to ascertain other books about the topic I have chosen . If Logos can't provide me the capability to cross reference and find books pertaining to a desired topic I will be disappointed.

The software is free, the resources (books) you have to pay for. When you install the software, you then have to download the resources and let the software index the books. Have you done this? What base package do you have (if any)?
When you go to the library, do you see any books at all? Can you give a screen shot?

Curious about title ? Also wondering how many resources are in your Logos 4 Mac library ?
Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot My Logos 4 Mac library has 6,345 resources:
One way to search library is typing descriptive words. For example, moody theology finds 11 resources in my library:
Wonder what was purchased ? Logos has a base package comparison page => http://www.logos.com/comparison
In 2009, Logos changed licensing so software is free with digital resources ranging in price from $ 0.00 (free) to $ 4,290 (Portfolio Edition base package)
All I'm trying to do is use Logos to ascertain other books about the topic I have chosen.

When you click on the 'Library' Icon a window should open showing the books (resources) in your library. This is a scrollable list.
I assume that when you say 'I purchased Logos 4 Software because...' you purchased one of the base packages. As Alabama points out actually the 'software is free', what you actually pay for is the books (resources) to put into it. As an aside I understand that Logos has generous discounts for those who are in education.
If when you open the 'Library' window there are no books showing then
All I'm trying to do is use Logos to ascertain other books about the topic I have chosen
The best way to see what resources are available is to look through the products page on the Logos web site.
The lazy way would be to go to the general forum and ask, 'What resources should I use to research X'.
