Bonhoeffer reaches production for $340 - But Spicq's Hebrews still not there at only $40 - ???

Despite all of the "turndown" notices issued here for the Bonhoeffer Works pre-pub because of the $340 pre-pub price, it reached production requirements last night after less than 2 weeks.

But, Spicq's fabulous commentary on Hebrews has not gathered enough interest after almost 4 weeks now? Is it name recognition, or does the $40 cost require more interest (participants/buyers) than Bonhoeffer did at $340? Spicq is a translation project,. so perhaps Logos projects a number of those who commit to buying now may not do so in 1-2 years when the translation project is completed, so more early-bird participants are required to meet long term costs. Just a thought.

Spicq's Hebrews is probably, IMHO, the top must-have new publication in Logos in over a year, and experience generally is that a pre-pub that doesn't get full interest in the first month usually takes 6-12 months to get there after that, if in fact it gets enough interest at all. Logos has done their part (emails, a full-fledged Blog posting). What more can be done? Have pre-pubs ever beem the subject of Bible Study Magazine articles?

    Remember that Bonhoeffer's works are already translated and in electronic files, while Spicq's works have to be translated and typed in. That's expensive.

    I just checked, though, and Spicq is at 87%. Shouldn't take that much longer now. And these new Aquinas translations will probably attract a few new customers of the kind that are also interested in Spicq.

    I have not signed up for Spicq's volume on Hebrews. I know many think it is the best, but I have read others and know well the epistle so I guess I am wondering why I should spend more money to get it. I guess I am probably one of the ones who watches his budget and would need to have strong reasons to buy. I have spent more on other books, like lexicons, but those are references for anything in the Bible, not just one book. That's my petty 2 cents.
