It's a good thing that D. A. Carson did not win...

I would have been completely overwhelmed trying to figure out which books to buy (insert extreme sarcasm smiley here)
Even better: The second one is a shorter version of the first. [:P]

Bit more so since the second is an abridged version for the first edition of the first one (while the first one is a newer second edition).

Very disappointed with the limited offering here. Was hoping for some other titles. I'm assuming this is an issue with the publishers given the more expansive offerings on every other author in the March Madness Sale.

Plus, both of the Carson books were also offered as Moo books last week, but at only 35% off. Unfortunately, I picked up the longer one then at the higher price. [:(]

Suggest contacting Logos Customer Service => http://www.logos.com/about/contact since 35 % discount purchase can be refunded.

Hi Pam,
That was an oversight of ours with those resources. I've had the duplicates removed from Moo's selection of resources.
I will be pulling a list today to ensure anyone who purchased the resources at 35% gets credited the difference so that the 60% is applied.
Sorry about that. Hope this helps.

This is very disappointing. One has to ask why Carson was in March Madness at all given that only two of his resources are being offered.

I can understand.

The publishers have a say in it too. Perhaps that is partially to blame. Of course, it wouldn't look as bad if Carson had gone out early in the contest… [;)]

But really the point is this - if Logos knew that only two books would be available they should not have put him in the vote. And they certainly should know before the competition starts what they will be offering![^o)]

on the other hand, voters could have adopted the strategy of always voting for the author with the most books (that they wanted/didn't have) , or the books with best dollar discount @75% off. In other words, not entirely Logos' fault [;)]

Actually, there was no information given on how many and which books would be offered by each author. There are quite a number of Carson's works available:

I am among those who find it very anticlimactic, even somewhat ridiculous that only these two titles by Carson are offered. I would add that not all works from any given author is of equal value. How many of us would have voted for Wright if say, only "Matthew for everyone" and "Mark for everyone" had been the prize? We might have chosen to vote for other authors just because the actual discounted titles are of greater value...
Perhaps the idea is to make us grateful for what titles are available for Wright?

Next year everyone should vote for Cranfield, Barrett, and anyone else from the newer ICC Commentary series.
We could have paid $22 for each volume of the Cranfield Romans Commentary. Better deal than Wrights stuff.

Well, we can't have it all, but hey, at least i got the longer version of NT Introduction which I've been meaning to buy. This 12.80 is better than the 20 something sale they had going on a short while ago...hehehe...I'm so glad I finally got this!
On the other hand I wish more of Carson's titles would be available. I've been wanting exegetical fallacies, but I have not heard too many good reviews on it. Oh well! Again, I can't have it all...;-)
Blessings!

Always blame the publishers or....? Logos managed this promotion poorly! The rules were contradicted may times as to authors

Thanks. I purchased at the higher price as well. For Carson basically nothing was offered"No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying." Leonard Ravenhill
