Can Someone Help Me With My Math?

I decided to pick up one of the March Madness sale items. I put it in the cart, entered the correct code, and went to the submit page, and got the following-

The book costs $12.80. There's a buck-six tax. That's $13.86 total. I applied $13.86 from my Christmas sale credit. So why is there a balance of $1.06 showing?

You can't use credit for the sales tax.

It looks like the Christmas credit does not cover Sales Tax.

In Washington state, the customer must pay tax on the full amount when coupons are used… I don't know if that relates to this situation or not.

You can't use credit for the sales tax.

Doesn't add up. The cost of the book is $12.80. The amount deducted from my credit was $13.86. It should either show no balance, or should show a deduction for the cost of the book only.

I have used my credit for sales tax.

I have ran into the OPs problem. I resolved the problem by completely re-doing the sales process.

I sent an email to customer service.

I'm guessing it's a quirk of the web page and not a problem with the calculations. As one other said, I looked back and I was able to use credit to pay sales tax on a recent purchase.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. This is an issue that will be resolved shortly in a future release. In the meatime, you can 'un-check' and 're-check' the 'Apply Credit' checkbox and that should refresh the balance correctly.
