is there a way to "realy" purge libronix 3?

I am setting up a laptop to give to a friend.
I used it for a while with my libronix installed. my friend has their own libronix CD. I tried uninstalling mine. but when I install their CD, it has my customer ID by default, and I can't seem to purge it. Is there anything I can do short of reimaging the system (reinstalling OS) that will get rid of my Libronix, files and licenses - all of it?

Follow the directions on this web page:

EDIT: I want to make sure you don't miss downloading and running PurgeLDLS.bat. That would do most of what you're wanting to do. (And, obviously, you don't want to do the reinstall!)

Also try deleting all your browser cookies. If you were logged on to the Logos website under your customer ID on the old machine it might still have a cookie for that.

Brent,
After you do the wiki link I would recommend download CCleaner from periform. It will get the rest of what you didn't get.

edit - just found logos 2 was still on here - perhaps that's it. any links for full uninstall l2?

If you have uninstalled the programs, how do you know your customer ID is still on the system?
Regarding uninstalling L2: There should be an uninstall with the Logos 2 program. If memory serves
it does a more complete job of uninstalling than LibronixDLS.Help links: WIKI; Logos 6 FAQ. (Phil. 2:14, NIV)

He said "my friend has their own libronix CD" - assume they installed the other after removing the first

And I assumed that he's uninstalled Libronix again and run PurgeDLS.bat to get rid of the old user ID. It may not be possible to purge the old ID with an active installation of Libronix.
If Libronix is installed resetting the customer ID should work:
- Tools > Account Management
- In that Window ("Verify Contact Details") under "Is this correct?" select "No"
- Enter the new data.
This should work, though I have no way of testing it.

Yes, uninstalled, purged, reinstalled from the other CD, but when I go to account management - it still has my customer ID.
and no, logos 2.1c (i think it was) had no uninstaller. i was able to just delete the directories. and there didn't seem to be any references in registry. and again uninstalled and purged. yet still when installing libronix it has my customer ID.
gotta be missing something, obviously. tried installing from the web, and from the cd they have (it is an older version of 3 that needs updates after it is installed) - either way, still shows my customer ID in account management. maybe i'll try again another day.

Did you do a complete search through your registry for your customer ID using regedit (or regedt32)? I can't think where else it could be coming from if not the registry.

yes, no reference to the email address that is the customer ID.

Has your friend already installed their CD elsewhere? Can they make a license back up and then you can install that on your old laptop. Would this not overwrite your customer id with theirs?

Does this friend have a Logos account?
Where did the cd come from, is it originally theirs?
If it installs and then you access the program, then the registration should not recognize you unless you are the original owner, especially when it access’ the Logos site.
The account info from the logos site will recognize the cd as to the original owner – regardless of where it is installed, provided the original owner registered it – once it is registerd the Logos site will not auto-change it.
Clean the hdd again, load his cd, got to ‘tools > account management’ fill in all the information of your friend. Finish the registration, if there was a previous owner and it is not him it will tell you. Leave it alone and call Logos on Monday.

no, they don't have it installed elsewhere. it was given to them some time ago. We did get logos to send a .LBXUPD file with their customer ID and confirmation code.
1. I never get to a place that I can enter that, as my customer ID is already there.
2. when I launch the lbxupd file, it shows their licenses (required), and then appears to load them, but when I restart libronix, it still has my ID there.
i think I may just re-image the system. it didn't have any OS CD's, but I found that there is a partition that will allow me to re-image to "factory".

Did you try changing it here:

yes. the first thing I tried. that doesn't allow you to change the customer ID itself, once it is there.

Try to restore the Licence from a backup file (of your friend's) if available, else delete the the license file in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Libronix DLS\Library\Licenses (C:\ProgramData\Libronix DLS\Library\Licenses in Win 7) and try the LBXUPD file again.

reinstalled OS from restore partition, installed libronix 3 used their customer ID info - all works fine now. in fact, turns out they wanted L4 - so it was installed and all works fine now.

Sorry you had to go to such a drastic solution, but glad you finally got it resolved.
