How to pull up passages only on Reading Plan

When I pull up my reading plan from my home page at the top, it opens up my plan but also pulls up the passage guide and explorer windows at the same time.  Is there a way I can set it to only pull up the passages I am reading when I click todays reading at the top?  My PC is a little slow and it when it pulls all these resources up it causes Logos to hang a bit before pulling everything up and I always end up just closing every window that is not my text anyway.

I am using the Logos 4 free engine on Windows Vista... I know I know.

I believe this is by design.

The only way I have found around it, is to create a layout called, daily reading, and save your progress every day and to save the updated layout, so that the next time you open the saved layout, it returns to where you left off.

Nathan - Welcome to the forums!

May I be bold and make a suggestion? The "home page" is a nice feature, but it is VERY slow. Many of us have abandoned it altogether. If you want to speed things up, you can open up to your last used layout instead. On the lower left side of the homepage, there is a customize button. Click that and UNCHECK the "show homepage at startup." You can then create a special reading plan layout as Kenneth suggested, or access your reading plan from file menu.

By the way, the reason the reading plan pulls up into the passage guide is because there is a "blank layout" behind the homepage. If you were to open a layout first, I think you would find that the reading plan opens up in that layout instead.

One more tip: in the passage guide, diminish all the sections before closing. This will cause the passage guide to open more quickly, although each section will have to populate when you choose to view them.

    Welcome [:D]

Yes, thread => How to make Reading plan link NOT open Guide includes:

Option: prioritize devotional in your Logos Library so Home Page displays devotional, then can click "More" beside "Daily Devotional" to open devotional to today's reading, then click Home button, followed by clicking Reading Plan in Home Page ribbon to open Bible to today's reading.

    Thanks for the tips everybody.

I found a work around that seems to be working, it came from the thread Keep Smiling linked to.

"I overcome it by not doing what you are doing.

I have a layout for my reading plan (BibleVersion and Commentary in the Logos Box and floating windows on the second screen for Bible People and Bible Places). You can, of course make a custom layout to suit yourself.

You then open your 'Reading Plan' from the layout tab and need to remember to 'Update to current Snapshot' each time you finish reading."

I think this will work for now.  Thanks for all the tips!
