Problem with Kittels

I'm having a problem getting Kittels to work properly on or of line, I use a Imac with Lion. When I type an English into the search box at the top and hit return (there is no search or go button near what I assume is the search box) I will get a strongs number in the search box and a screen that has nothing to do with the word I searched for. The screen will not change when I type different words into the search box and hit return. I bought Kittels a few months ago so I know the library is indexed. Also, is there a Kittels tutorial somewhere on this site? Thanks for any help.

Marty - First, welcome to the forums!
I am not an expert in this, but I think I can help you out. By "Kittels," I assume you mean Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, correct? This is indexed by four methods, shown in the following screen shot. You cannot type an english word in and expect to get the result you are looking for because it is not indexed by any english words! I believe that you would need to enter the Greek Lemma.
Can you give an example of what you are trying to find?

Thanks Alabama. I didn't know it couldn't be indexed by English, I assumed the electronic version would be, but its doing the same thing when I enter a Greek. Here is a screen of mine.

Since it is a greek dictionary, it is indexed in greek.
Can you give a real world example of what you are trying to do (i.e. which word, in which verse are you trying to look up?)?

To be honest, I have wished that it also had a Hebrew index for when it goes off on Hebrew words.

Question for clarification… Do you mean when a Greek word or concept is being discussed and Hebrew religious background words are being discussed in relationship to the Greek? I purchased Logos toward the end of my seminary career and have not been employed since, so I haven't been using this resource for school or sermon work...

Welcome [:D]
One way to access entries in the Theological dictionary of the New Testament (Big Kittel) is right click on a Bible word, click Strong's number, click "The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament"
Thread => searching strong's numbers includes my lexicon prioritization, which allows a right click on a Bible word to show five lexicons for lemma and five lexicons for Strong's number so have right click quick access to ten lexicons.

Option: can right click on Hebrew word in TDNT, then search open resources. For screen shot, scrolled down in TDNT to show "The Old Testament", then right click on Hebrew word, search open resources, which was followed by copying search to a new tab, dragged tab to new location, then changed to Bible search:
Noticed 21 Old Testament verses have the Hebrew equivalent of χαίρω for joy along with TDNT having 6 articles; more joy to read.

Good thinking. [:)]

Nice trick. I've played around extensively with other prioritization, but never thought about using the Strong's number list to extend the quick click available options. Thanks for that!
