Alabama24,  I thank you for your reply. I had to get away from the ipad for awhile before it drove me batty. I went back and looked at the more in lower right, and found that I was signed in. I looked at history and saw a list of Bibles and books that I thought I had downloaded the day before, but had only 1 Bible showing in my library. I just dont know what i'm doing. I guess my question is I need to know now to download books and find a verse, and look at a commentary.

    Leonard -

Have you typed anything into your library search window, or is it COMPLETELY empty? For example, if I type "ESV" into my library search window, my list of 2072 books gets narrowed down to only 3. This is because my search for "ESV" has filtered out everything else. Can you verify for me that your search field is blank?

Also, can you confirm that you are actually online? (The quick way would be to open the safari web browser and try to visit a web page).

Also, as a heads up, if you click "email me when someone replies" in the upper right hand corner of this thread, you will receive an email to let you know that someone has responded. If you get tired of getting emails for any particular thread, you reverse the process (click "stop").

My library shows the Amplified Bible. The home shows read Bible in year, and 3 devotionals. I did confirm that I was on internet.

My library shows the Amplified Bible.

Let's try this again. I want to know if there is anything typed into the search field. In my screen shot below, I have "family" typed into the search field. I am asking you to make sure the search field is COMPLETELY empty. If there is anything in the search field, it will filter your results that you find in the library. I believe that you have done this, which is why you only see one book. My guess is that you have typed "Amplified" or something like it.

My point was to remove the text and replace it with nothing! If you want to see your entire library, the field has to be empty!

it came up with other booka, but NKJV was marked in upper right with a tag.

What do you mean a tag? In the screen shot below (from my iPhone, not iPad), the first two books have the "downloaded" symbol (a green circle, with a downward arrow over a line). Is that what you mean by "marked with a tag"? If this is correct, then you have successfully downloaded that book.

NOTE: you do not need to download ANY book, as long as you have an internet connection. Downloading books is only necessary for times when you will not have a wifi or 3G service.

Thanks ! for the help. You are correct on the tag. If I can ask one more question. Is it possible to stack Bibles or commentaries, in order  to comppare differences?

Is it possible to stack Bibles or commentaries, in order  to comppare differences?

There are two possibilities for this. First, you could try "text comparison." There is a button at the bottom for this. NOTE: this is a special view and not a "reading view." Also note that currently you can't select the translations used. Your preferences are supposed to sync from L4, but this isn't working currently.

The second thing you could try, which is what I think you are asking about, is called "split screen." In the screen shot below, notice the semi circle at the bottom middle. This is a "slider" button that you push and slide. When it is in the corner, you can "double tap" it and it will center the line. Otherwise, you can slide it to the position you want. To get the two panels to move together as you scroll through a passage, press and hold the semi circle and move the switch that pops up to "link." NOTE: If you can't see the semi circle, it may be because the menus are up. Gently tap the screen once to make the menu disappear.
