I've searched the NKJV for a word, and have not been able to print the results. I am also unable to copy the results and paste them into a Word document. Is there a way to do this? Thanks! Mike
Not yet. At least not that I know of.
Printing from more parts of the program is a functionality that is coming.
Michael,
the only way that I can see to do it is basically a screen shot....
I use One Note which does that anyway..
Rich, Robert,
Really? Copy and paste doesn't work? I know we can't print, but I didn't know we can't copy and paste. It's not that I don't believe Michael; I guess I have not tried this myself and am disappointed this is not working, yet.
Rich, Robert, Really?
Really?
Uh, huh.
Joan,
you can print a lot of things..but the results of a word search isn't one of them...

What surprises me is the not being able to copy and paste. I know printing is limited.

Yes, there are media and other specialty items that you can print. But, you are unable to print search results, clippings, notes, and text from resources directly from Logos 4. The text from resources can be copied and pasted into word and some have found success in using onenote to get screen shots for search, clippings, and notes.

Sorry for being unclear...that's what I meant....I agree with you...it's something that I use A LOT...or "USED" A LOT...
Robert,
A-OK [:)]
It would be nice to even be able to highlight, right click and print the selection.
I just purchased Logos Software for the 1st time and I can't believe it doesn't do the simplest function such as print. It is something I will use alot since I am doing schoolwork where I need to be able to copy past etc. I would never even think to ask about such a thing. How soon is soon?
The looks of the program and how it seems to function seems awesome but it doesn't do what I need if I can't print. How can you make bible study lessons etc if you can't print them out?
I have been very frustrated with this since I was in the middle of a paper which is usual, trying to put scripture and other content into my paper. It woudl have been properly cited however. The other thing I noticed was in citing the program was using APA 4th edition and it is at 6 right now. I thought that was odd considering it was brand new.
Any help concerning this would be gratefully appreciated.
Terry,
Specifically; it doesn't print the results of a search SO....
Here is what I do.
I use Onenote (you can use Word or anything you like) and take a screen shot and paste it in to whatever you want.
The other way is the go to all of the passages and cut/paste them into a doc....not very user friendly.
If you have a specific use in mind...let us know and we can possibly suggest something that would help.
Terry, we don't know how soon this is coming. It's scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2010 according to this page:
http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures
In the meantime you could copy them into your favorite word processor with the Copy Bible Verse tool. You'd have to do it one at a time, but at least it's something.
A lot of users don't ever print from Logos, they just copy/paste into Word or WordPerfect, or OpenOffice, where we have more control over what the finished product looks like. I, for instance, always prepare my lessons and sermons in WordPerfect (never in Logos). But right now some of those pages won't even allow copying, so that's a little discouraging too.
The APA citations did not change much between the 4th and 6th editions, and though I can't check, I believe the standards for citing from electronic works haven't changed in the last few years. So you should be good to go. Typically the newer editions merely add new citation options, rather than change the citation standards themselves. But if you can, check yourself and see if there are any differences.

I would suggest that LOGOS sales -- if they are not doing so -- start pointing new customers to the missing feature link on their website. This would seem to solve a miriad of problems and frustration.
I have to admit that when I purchase software or use any Bible software , I just take it for granted that it will at least copy and paste and yes, print, too. So, the expectation to have it print, IMHO, is justified particularly if someone is not told that it is a feature that will be added.
I watched the Demo for L4 and it is very well done and displays new features that look superb and are complex. So, I think that "does it print?" or "does it copy and paste?" would not be questions I would ask when purchasing; or, "does it print verse lists?" or "can I copy verse lists?" are also questions that might not arise in a buyer's mind. I understand the frustration and disappointment but what does absolutely offset it to me is the realization of the huge potential of L4 and that these featuares will definitely be added soon. So, I can be patient.
Richard,
I’m one of those who also would like to see a patch updating the APA formatting style from version four to six. There have been substantial changes in the basic formatting of references (such as using italics instead of underlining for source titles) besides a range of updates for electronic sources. It is normal for students to be required to use the current version of APA for research papers. Making formatting changes from version four to version six manually in a reference page is a lot of work and it would not take much effort on the part of Logos to update the formatting style. This update would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rol
Welcome to the forums. You have made this post in an old thread where it may not be read. I'm going to make a copy of your post in the Suggestions forum where I'm more certain it will be seen.
Any updates on this? I would also like to print a large list from a Bible word study search. I can send it to PowerPoint as an image, but the resolution is too low to be useful.
Hi
Printing is now included in the Logos software - this is quite an old thread.
You can get access to the Print capabilities by using the Print/Export function - for more details, please see http://wiki.logos.com/Print$2fExport
If you are still having problems I suggest you create a new thread in either the PC - http://community.logos.com/forums/76.aspx - or Mac - http://community.logos.com/forums/75.aspx - forums
Hope this helps
Graham
Hi Mike... you can print in another program called Accordance....[6]
HI Brian - and welcome to the forums.
Mike's request - to which you are responding - was posted in 2009 and the issue to which it refers was resolved a long time ago
Are you having issues with the use of Logos software?
