Information Window - More text available?

I keep the Information Window up while I am reading so that I can quickly lookup words or verses found in my reading. The information defaults to fulling the right side of the screen which is perfect. Unfortunately it only shows me a portion of the definition of the word I am hovering over.

Even more unfortunately, in the case of definitions it usually doesn't get to the definition before it cuts off. It tells me all of the preliminary information but right as it gets to the definition it is done. I must open the dictionary anyway Sad

I could understand this behavior if the definition/passage/whatever is too long for the Information Window but in the case where it is not too long why cut it off?

Notice all of that unused whitespace and the lack of a meaningful definition.

PS: Yes I know what ability means this was just a good illustration of the problem Wink

At this point, that is the way it is [:(] If you have the Concise Oxford Dictionary, prioritize it higher than the Webster. There is not as much stuff before the def'n starts so you get at least the first/main def'n. If not, check any other dictionaries to see if the get to the def'n faster.

I also don't remember anyone pointing this out before. Maybe we can get it picked up on.

I do have that dictionary and you're right it looks much better!

I would still like to see this changed but at least I have a workable solution for now [:)]

More text available. My problem is LESS information available.

I have my BDAG, Louw Nida, Strongs, and Anlex (which is what I want) ,but I don't need to know the English yet the COED comes up first (even though I didn't have it prioritized like my Greek) and I DON'T want ANY English coming up. Also, the references come up also, which I understand because I have the ESV or NET up and they have the references in them, which is my next question: How can I do the old v.3 "view text only" so I don't have to look at all the references in the Bible text?

This is already reported -- too bad we can't find things easily in this forum.

If you go into your priorities and right click on COED it will show you advanced options. Mark COED as link to English. You may want to have the others link to Greek.

Then when you hover over a word - in say the ESV interlinear - it will only show the Greek resources not the English Dictionary.

Do we have any idea if the infomation window will be modified to display full text from a resource? At the moment the window for me is near pointless as it doesn't display enough information from any sources, so I need to either open the resource or read from the popup window where my cursor is. I'd like to be able to turn off the pop-up display and just rely on the information window - as in L3. And will the speed be improved? In L3 the information window gave instant information...and the complete Strong's listing for a word, which I miss greatly.

BDAG and HALOT do not play well at all with this window. For anyone with these two resources as their highest priority, it is an absolute waste of time.

will the speed be improved?

I'm sure they are still trying to tweak this. I have a brand new machine and the lag is as bad as on my 5 year old notebook.
