Video resources

I've seen in the beta release notes that video resources can now be played. I have the "Greatest Book" video series, but have not been able to move the resources into L4 or find a way to play them. I have the license from L3 synced, I have tried "Scan E:", and I have tried copying the resources into the L4 Resources folder. Is the beta not yet ready for this or am I missing something?

I believe that the video resources refer to the videos for Faith Life.

I am sure other videos will be added in time,

Leigh - Kenneth is right… the "videos" are from faithlife. I am not sure what formats are being used, but there isn't a way (currently) to add other videos. Perhaps this is a future feature, but I am unaware of any public comments about the issue.

The following Known Issue (which is still true) wasn't copied from the Beta 1 Release Notes to the Beta 6 Release Notes, leading to your confusion. (I've added it now.)

"Logos 4.5b Beta 1 does not read the LDLS3 *.lbxvid video resource format. These videos used Windows Media Player, so are not compatible with non-Windows operating systems."

Bradley - I assume that since this is a windows forum, the release not statement is intending to say that logos has moved to a new video format for comparability purposes on both platforms, right? [:)]

Yes, Logos has moved to a new video format (for compatibility with Windows, Macintosh, Android, iOS, and the web).

The *.lbxvid files will never be playable in Logos 4, but the LDLS3 video resources will be rebuilt in the new format and re-released. (I don't have an estimated date for when this will happen.)
