setting parameters for "search" function

I need advice on how to narrow the search range for any particular subject. As an example, let's say I would like to search for all references in my library excluding Biblical sources for the subject "Artaxerses". In other words, what syntax would be required in the search field in addition to the word "Artaxerses" to exclude all Biblical passages but include all other library sources? (note: using Logos4/windows) Thanks - JT

Hi John - and welcome to the forums
To do what you want you need to set up a collection which excludes Bibles.
Details of setting up Collections are available at http://wiki.logos.com/Collections and some examples are at http://wiki.logos.com/Example_Collections
One of the examples provides what you are looking for:
Everything but Bibles
- Library Size: 1,250
- Collection Size: 1,014
- Rule: rating:<=5 ANDNOT type:bible
- Manually Included Items: none
- Manually Excluded Items: none
Hope this helps
Please post back if you have further questions

Welcome [:D]
Another collection idea is English library without Bibles using rule:
Language:English -Type:Bible
By the way, noticed Artaxerxes and Artaxerses have different number of search results.
Keep Smiling [:)]
