Highlighting text w/out showing up in note file

I apologize if this has been covered in another post.

I use highlighting a lot as a visual aid when reading Scripture and also for taking notes. When I open the related note file I see both my notes as well as all those places where I just highlighted. This just clutters up the note file. Is there a way to highlight text without it showing up in the note file?

The only way is to use another note file. You can, if you want, change the text in the note file. The text is actually just for identification purposes (think of it as the subject line for the note).

I think this (i.e. using another note file for highlights) most probably would accomplish what Dwight is after. One just needs to configure the highlighting palette (via Tools/Highlighting) to go to a certain notefile - I use the palette specific notefile "Highlighter Pens" since Logos created this automatically fo me, and I send highlighters from other palettes to file "Highlighter Pens" and thus have text-containing notes separate from the highlights.

Thanks for the repies. I figured it out. When I begin a new study, I create a note file for that study and then when I make a note in whatever bible or book I am in, I right click and select "add a note to." The new note file will be selected. If under "Highlight Pens" Most recent note file" is selected, then all notes added by right clicking will be added to that note file. When I want to just highlight text, I use the CTRL-K shortcut or open the pallet and click on the color I want to Highlight in. That sounds clear as mud, but it works.
