I have a Bible made into a Personal Book. It has milestones and is labeled as type:Bible. Does it have to have "field on" and "field off" syntax to be recognized in the Text Comparison Tool? Does this have to be added in each verse?
Jerry - I assume you are asking these questions because you have tried this and haven't been able to get it to work, right? In your pb bible, can you set the visual filter guide to "bible text only?"
Also, do you have milestones for each verse?

(Edit: I am a very talkative guy!)

i think so, but memory is a terrible thing to loose [:)]
i asked this almost a year ago here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/36966/277118.aspx
EDIT: you could try adding {{field-on:Bible}} and {{field-off:Bible}} around several verses and then rebuild your PB and try it with TC. You may need to wait some minutes after building for Indexing and then for L4 to update it's other stuff. Make sure you use a verse in TC in which you know that you've tagged with the fields.
Jerry -
I think you have exhausted my knowledge of PB Bibles (which wasn't much). [:P]
It seems to me that being able to set the visual filter to "bible text only" and being able to use the PB Bible in Text Comparison might be related, but that doesn't really help you I don't think. [:S]
If I were trying this, I would copy a small portion of the original text and create a new document to eliminate other possible reasons for it to not work.
Alabama,
Good suggestion.
Jerry,
You might also want to Tag your Bible PB, so you can find it TC's list of Bibles. The old example file that i had shows up since i tagged it 'Bible PBs'. Also in the back of my mind there might to be an issue with TC, that you may need to close TC for it to recognize newly tagged books and then reopen TC.
EDIT:
Here are some screen shots
Thanks Guys! I was afraid that was the case. Thankful for fully tagged Logos resources!

Yes, alternative is using {{bible-on}} and {{bible-off}} pair of tags, which are equivalent to {{field-on:Bible}} and {{field-off:Bible}}
Does this have to be added in each verse?
No, often can be done chapter by chapter.

Hi!
Here's (quite an) easy instructions how to make a PB Bible with proper Bible fields on every verse (so that the Bible will work as it should in Logos):
