Highlighting

Is there something I have to turn on in the Logos4 program to have my text highlighting of a bible verse show up in all versions in my library? When I highlight a verse in the New Living Testament, I also want the verse to be highlighted in the King James, New International, etc.

I don't believe you can do this.

Highlights are made by creating a "blank note" against selected text whereas to ensure that notes are visible across all translations requires the note to be created against a Bible reference. When creating a note by reference you don't get the text highlighting capability.

Does this make sense?

"Please add highlighting style option for by reference notes so can highlight verse(s) in all Bibles."

Randy - To expand a little on Graham's comments:

When you highlight, you are selecting individual words, or even characters. For example, you can highlight a phrase, a word, or even part of a word. In my screen shot below, you will notice that to illustrate this for you, in verse 13, I have highlighted "right" in "righteous." In verse 14, I have highlighted the phrase "who do not have the law." In verse 15, I have highlighted the entire verse. It is important to note that I had to select the entire verse manually. If I had been sloppy, not all of the verse would have been highlighted.

What you are wanting to do can't be done with highlights as they are currently constructed. When you move to a new translation, Logos would have no way to know which characters / words / phrases you wanted highlighted.

Your desire is something that has been requested before, but it would take a new feature to be added. What would be required is the highlighting of entire words, based upon the underlying lemma in the original language. You would not be able to select individual characters.

Another option would be possible, which would be the highlighting of the entire verse, period. In most cases this is less than ideal since the versification is often arbitrary. Part of the thought of one sentence moves into another verse, etc.
