Is it possible to change the log folder location?

I would like to change the location of the Logos log folder. It is currently in the My Documents folder, and I am trying to actually begin using that folder to store my documents... and would prefer that programs not create folders there when possible.

No it's not possible to change that.

Many programs create sub-folders in My Documents. The idea is, if you're only backing up your My Documents folder and all its sub-folders, at least you'll be backing up the data associated with that program. If they put it in some folder elsewhere under C:\, it might not be as likely to get backed up. It also keeps it associated with your user account, whereas putting it in some other folder would make the data accessible to other users who log in with separate accounts on the same computer.

Even though they might default to a sub-folder in My Documents, many programs also do give users control over where the data folders are. So you might want to ask Logos for a feature to set the location of the log files folder. It's a debugging feature only, though, so they aren't likely to want to invest much time into a UI for setting the location of the folder. Also, they have purposely tried to minimize the use of user-settable options in the user interface, as it only clutters things.

So my recommendation would be to just overlook it. I use My Documents for storing all my documents too, and the fact that there are lots of sub-folders in it which I didn't create is never a problem. I make sub-folders in it for categories of documents (ones related to family, school, projects I'm working on, etc.). If you want to easily be able to tell your own folders apart from ones put there by programs, you could prefix all of your own with some unique prefix, such as your initials followed by an underscore.
