Sda books?

Does anyone know if the sda's have their own bible software program? I recently became aware that j.w's do, and it is not something that you can just purchase unless you are a j.w. I was wondering if the sda have their books in electronic format also. I seen one site that mentioned one but I cannot seem to find it. I am looking for more then just the sda commentary that is available through logos. Trying to research the different sect through first hand information, and am coming up short (at least in easy to use electronic version)

No we do not have our own Bible software Blair. Not much of our book are digitized, but for information that is available online you can go here http://www.adventistbiblicalresearch.org/. Free papers are found under the documents section.

For information on the Church go here. http://www.adventist.org . If you type "seventh-day adventist" in the logos website it yields this. http://www.logos.com/products/search?q=seventh-day+adventist. The website incorrectly lists Ellen White as the author of the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary. This has been reported. Her works are included in the expanded edition.

I commend you for going to the source to find information, and I would also recommend the official television channel of the Church http://www.hopetv.org/ . See what you can find here. http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/ as well.

Finally, be careful about calling persons of other faiths sects, as this can have different meanings to many people.

Blair, I do not know which books you have in your library, but you may want to look up these names in your library under author search. Gerhard Hasel, William Shea, Andreasen, N.-E., are those that come readily to mind.

Dr. Shea has been written several articles in the Theological Journal Library. I mention this, as in the academic world, researchers are more interested in what you bring to the table as a scholar, as opposed to which denomination you belong to.

Thank you so much... I did not mean anything close to derogatory by using the word sect. Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran are all sects of Christianity. I am using the word as a synonym of denomination. Sect is defined as "A faction united by common interests or beliefs."

When searching online I found someone had said he used a sda bible study program

I have a copy. I just walked into a Kingdom Hall and asked. Was asked to make a donation. Has all of the past Watch Tower and other J.W. items.

They may have changed the rules but they seemed delighted that someone was interested.

I dont think so, but they can be downloaded for free for android and ipone/ipad. If you search around the cost of her writings and the 12 volume commentary which works in Logos may be bought for a cheaper price.

David how much did you have to donate, does it have a copy of their "translation" in it?

The copy I have does have 'their translation'. [I do not have it installed on this computer] I was not given a 'price' so I 'paid' what one of the lessor Bible study programs cost. They had no idea what I 'paid' they gave me an offering envelop on which I saw no marks [so as far as I know they could not trace my donation] and pointed to a box to place it. They had to special order it, it was not kept in stock. Two days after I got it I wrote the person that had gotten it for me. I told them to review their own product and requested that they give a copy to each of their members with a computer [don't know if they did].
