Package Upgrade Price

The price difference between scholar's silver and gold on the Logos website is $323. This is without the current promotion of 15% off. I called Logos and the best they can offer for an upgrade from silver is $361 with academic discount. This is MORE than the difference in retail price!

For the upgrade to platinum the difference in retain price on their website is $586.50. Logos wants $655.55 for this upgrade. Again, more than the difference in retail price.

New customer can purchase a base package for 15% off under the current promotion. If you want to upgrade and Logos already has you in a base package, be prepared to PAY!

I won't be upgrading base packages. No thanks!

You did notice that it said “new users” for the 15%-? Should it be that you have such and such and wish to upgrade. Then do a comparison of what is in your library to what is in the upgrade. Then recall sales and communicate that you already have ‘such and such” , ask them to reconsider the price…..or better yet, clarify for you what is in the upgrade – you may find that it is worth the price…..

That doesn't sound right. The normal (before 15%) price of Silver is $999.95, with Gold at $1379 and Platinum at $1689.95.

The prices after the 15% discount are Silver $849.96, Gold $1172.96 and Platinum $1436.96.

Is the upgrade price of $655.55 the one-off payment price, or the 12-month payment price?

EDIT: It sounds like your quote of $361 is the 12-month plan price (which seems to be about 10% extra, give or take) minus the academic discount. Without knowing how much the academic discount is, I can't do the math, but I'm guessing that's what's happened?

I did not mention a 12-month price plan. So I don't know if there is a difference.

If I am wrong for pointing out that current customers pay more, then I apologize.

Going back to school at my age has not been easy. I have made several purchases at an discout. For this I am thankful.

Lexham Hebrew-English interlinear (Logos price $99)

New International Greek Testament Commentary ($599.95)

United Bible Societies' OT and NT Handbook series ($799.35)

I understand your frustration at the seemingly steep upgrade price, and I admit I did get 15% off my upgrade because I upgraded within 6 weeks of buying the base package. The Sales team did say to me that it was a "limited time offer". I probably wouldn't have upgraded without the 15% discount.

That's actually the reason I went for Leaders > Silver rather than to Gold - I realised the money could be better spent on my wish list (which has gotten so big that I need a spreadsheet, how sad).

Scholar's Gold normal retail is $ 1,379.95 that has a 15 % discount for new purchase to $ 1,172.96

Difference between retail packages is $ 380.00 while 15 % discounted difference is $ 323.00

Depends on how long ago for initial base package purchase. Logos has 30 day refund so an initial recent purchase before the 15 % promotion could be returned (possibly credited in full) toward purchasing a new package, which is something to discuss with Logos sales => http://www.logos.com/about/contact

Logos sale history has include base package upgrades at times. However, have no idea if (when) for upgrade repeat. One potential time for discounted upgrade pricing is when Logos 5 ships.

Looking at Logos upgrade web page => http://www.logos.com/upgrade personally have doubts about upgrading to Portfolio for $ 2,600 since my Logos library already has a number of Portfolio resources from other purchases; have started a wish list for upgrade items => https://www.logos.com/user/wishlists so can ponder if upgrade is worthwhile.

Thankful for Christmas 2011 sale, which included credit toward future purchases. March Madness and Easter sales substantially reduced my account credit.

Hoping Logos offers Christmas credit again (albeit my wallet is still crying from the sales in December 2011).
