Loading Microsoft Word on a Windows Tablet

I purchased a windows tablet - Acer W500.  I was able to load Norton on ok from a disk but I cannot load Microsoft Office 2007.  It keeps displaying error messages.  I have tried this several times.  The first time it appeared to have worked ok and restarted but the programs were not there.  I have microsoft office 2007 on both my laptop and desktop.  I really only need Microsoft Word on my tablet.  Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get Word onto my laptop?

Wow, that's a strange problem. You're asking for ideas; is your W7 64? I assume the MO2007 is 32. But W7-64 has solid routines for conversion. In any event, if you're installing from a file and you are using 64, I'd try the right-click menu to give the earlier verions install (just to try).

The other thing I'd try is to turn Norton off during installation (turn it back on after and not be connected to the internet).
