Never used it, does it have an equivalent in L3?
If you select URL, it enables you to create a direct hyperlink to the current location. In other words you can create a hyperlink in Word that jumps to this resource location in Logos 4. The 3.0 equivalent is "Favorites>Copy Location to Clipboard" The HTML is for if you are posting the link into a website, Wiki for a wiki link, and RL for a reading list link. To see what it does click one of them and do a paste in a Word document. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nothing happens when I hover. Is this not yet available on L4Mac?

When you use Clippings, the link to the resource you have used is recorded in that Clipping when you paste the highlighted text. With Notes, the reference is NOT pasted in. I use the feature you are asking about to copy the current location in the resource into that Note for future reference. It is a great way to keep track of any documentation for text you quote in your Notes.

I want to highlight this a little further: this is such a great feature i recently wrote about it on the Logos blog.
Not only Word, but anything that understand a http hyperlink can use these to launch resources in Logos. That includes Word, web pages, wiki pages, HTML email, and on and on.

Sean,
I got excited when I read your post and even more so after reading your blog but...alas...I can't get it to work. Any chance you can walk me through it. (I realize you attempted to do so in your blog but I'm missing something.) Here's what I've done:
1) found a section in a commentary I wanted to save and "command-alt-C" (got a Mac)
logosres:lifeappac;ref=Bible.Ac20.36-38;off=1591
2) pasted that onto my Pages document
3) but it just sits there. Clearly I need to make it an active link, but I don't know how. Any help you can offer?

I'm not a Mac guy, so i don't know what Pages is. I assume it's a word processor? In other word processors (like Word), some hyperlinks (typically ones starting with http://) get automatically converted to hyperlinks. In other cases, you can select text and then choose a menu option like (in Word for example) "Insert Hyperlink", which then gives you a dialog box into which you can paste the URL.
Note this post (see how i inserted a link there? [:)]) which points out that Word for Mac (unlike Windows) won't allow links that don't start with http://, so it's possible Pages won't do that either.

Actually, Word for Mac 2008 insets a Localhost marker in front of Logos links and then refuses to recognize them.
Pages creates what looks like a hyperlink, but it does not work.
The version of Text Exit that comes with Snow Leopard (10.6) will correctly create Logos hyperlinks if the document is saved as rtf.
