Logos Went Belly-up

I went to do my devotional reading in logos on my ipod touch this morning and in advised me that there were 11 updates available and did I want to download them. I told it to download all and during the process logos up and crashed. I'm not sure which file was being updated at the time.

When I launched logos again it indicated that some of the files that were supposed to be on the system couldn't be found. The options were to downloan them or cancel. Regardless which one I select, logos then crases. In fact if I do nothing it crashed.

Anyway to get this up and running again?

I assume this means that you have quite a few resources downloaded to your device, correct?

Anyway to get this up and running again?

Here is what I would do, in the order that I would do them:

    1. Make sure you are using the newest version. (2.1.3 came out yesterday).
    2. Do a complete power shut down of the device, restart the app and see what happens.
    3. Try using a different, faster wifi connection.
    4. Check your space available using the iOS settings. Your app will need "room to breathe." Make sure your drive isn't jam packed and has space available.
    5. Delete the App and reload. NOTE: This will cause you to lose all your downloaded resources.

By the way… you wouldn't happen to have the faithlife resources on your device, do you?

Thanks for the quick reply. I had 20 gig free on a 64gig ipod touch but nothing helped except step 5. I reinstalled Logos and now launches ok. I then installed the  ESV bible locally on the ipod and that was ok. However, when I tried to load the ESV Study Bible notes locally on the ipod (with 22. 7 gig free) it will not install. The error message says simply that it was unable to download the ESV Study Bible,

I then tried installing the ESV Study Bible notes on my iPad, again twith enough free space, and again  I get the same error. Has anyone else experienced problems downloading the ESV Study Bible notes locally to the iPod Touch? or how much space is needed for the  book in question?

    Thanks, Michael

The ESV study bible is fairly large. I don't know how large, but it is one of the larger resources in my collection.

    1. When you try to download it, do you "babysit" it while it downloads, or do you just set it aside?
    2. Are you sure that the app had finished downloading notes, highlights, reading plans, etc. before you attempted this download?
    3. Have you run a speed test on your internet connection?
    4. Do you have any notes/highlights associated with the ESVSB?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Have been under the weather since Friday and haven't been on the computer. Reference #1, I have done both. Reference #2, yes. Reference #3, I have tried downloading on several different wifi connections as well as a 3G connection. Reference #4, no.

Strange as it may seem, the ESVSB downloaded fine this morning on both systems with no problems. Nothing was changed on either the iPad or the iPod Touch between Thursday and today. I'm confused but at least the ESVSB is installed and working.

Glad its working. The ESVSB is one of the larger resources. I have had difficulties downloading it before, but its never taken me more than a couple of tries.
