Logos forum quirk/bug

I just changed my registered email address with Logos and interestingly the forums have restarted the count of my postings to the forum. The forums Home page still shows me all of my own posts, so I can track responses to the threads. It feels sort of like becoming born again -- "all things have become new"!

I know the feeling. If you call Logos they may be able to fix it.

Alternative is an email to Logos; wiki has => Logos Email Addresses with an email address for forums, which includes request for post count connection with your new email address.

Hmmm...maybe I should do that, too.  I think I had over 600 before updating my e-mail address.  I should be close to 1,000 at this point.  I don't really care all that much though, so I never worried too much about it.

    Post counts ARE important.

Let's say one posts for the first time. Quickly people welcome you to the party.

But maybe 5 or 10 posts ... not likely knowledgable, doesn't know the ropes on who's allowed to talk theology, and who's not, and so on. (Yes, most 'don't talk theology' people, talk theology with wild abandon).

Now, there's kind of a subtle 'change-over' probably around 40-50, at which point strong opinions will be regarded as positive, as long as they're not too pointed. Most importantly, however, at this level, you shouldn't criticize Logos, and certainly not the Logos team. Bad form.

200-300 posts, and you're 'in the money'. You can literally throw fairly sharp barbs out,  and other high-post people will literally defend you, that your behavior is completely approved. It's great. Newer people simply drop their collective jaws in surprise.

After 1,000 or so, you can now toss pretty strong grenades into Logos HQ. No doubt the folks working there will be disappointed, working long hours just to get this far, but that's ok. You're a solid customer (actually solid 'poster').

And of course, if you read this far, multiples of posts in the thousands merit lengthy kudos from everyone at the party.

Yes, 'post-count' is literally your 'badge'for you to wear around the party. Don't be shy ... you earned it!

You should be back to a more realistic count now.
