long delays in note typing STILL

running Logos 4.5b (4.52.0.2176)installed in a default directory with all default settings.

on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

  • 120GB SSD
  • 8Gb ram
  • dedicated VideoCard 1Gb

experiencing 3-5 sec delays in typing notes, while Processor usage jumps from 4% to 30% when typing.

I am wondering, could it be a Windows indexer, antivirus, some other low level app that reads, what's being written in real time and hogs the resources? OR is it still Logos' architecture?

what happened to WPF? we were told of performance gains when WPF would be upgraded to version 4. Isn't it 4 now? If not, when is it coming?

    Yep. I've got about the same specs. I have my CPU throttled back to reduce the battery a bit but similar behavior. Internet shut off. Of course, I don't use L4 for any notes, highlights, etc so I was just curious to see the major improvement with 2 years. Oh wait, I guess we're moving toward the 3 year mark now.

    I don't really having any concerns here (my dog's over in Libronix), but with all the interconnectivity of L4 with everything else, I don't think you better get too hopeful.

    Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you but I thought I would let you know that you're not alone. Now I don't have an SSD but I'm running 8GB of ram with a dedicated video card, an Intel Core i5-520M 2.40GHz cpu with a 500GB 7200 RPM HDD and I'm experiencing the same thing.

    Just made a few notes myself, copied them from another thread to a note, had the same reaction. Even removed the hyperlinks…still had a time delay, but it was closer to a minute.

    could it be something other than Logos, but triggered by Logos, such as Windows indexer, antivirus, etc.?

    I have the same behavior whether "use internet" is ON or  OFF

    Found a reply by a Logos developer on 25 Jan 2011 => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/8612/215645.aspx#215645 that includes three known issues with WPF 4 that have not been resolved by Microsoft.

    Found a reply by same Logos developer on 10 Jan 2012 => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/43484/323729.aspx#323729 that includes direction toward 64 bit version of Logos, but not know when.

    Looking forward  to Logos 4.5c Beta on Mac => 4.5c changes in UI generation that will include user interface code generation changes (has potential to be a bit buggy).
