O.T. "Need help"!

I am teaching 2 classes on Zechariah 4 on Sunday. In most (if not all) of my Logos' books they all reference one particular article by R. North that is called "Zechariah’s Seven-Spout Lampstand." Apparently this is THE standard reference that is used for Zechariah 4.
I have tried finding this article, but to no avail. Does anyone have a copy of this that they can send me? Here is the citation: Biblica, 51, 2, 1970.
I appreciate any help given!

You could try emailing Eugene Merrill (who refers to Robert North's article in his own article about Zechariah (see footnote 354). His email address at the Dallas Theological Seminary is emerrill AT dts DOT edu. If you're feeling brave, you could phone him (the number is on the DTS website).

If no one is of help here, you might be able to get the article via a public library. Often they are able to secure a digital scan via email. Worth a try.

Thanks! I just emailed him (no, I don't feel brave today![:)])

If you have any luck, please could you let me have a copy (or a pointer to where I might obtain one)? It sounds like a fairly long work from the page numbering, but I'm curious now.
My email address is parkbench234 AT gmail DOT com.

Not sure how to do that, since I am in Israel.
Travelling, living? I tried getting online for you this morning at my Alma Mater's library, but my privileges (as a student) have now been revoked.

Searching my library likewise found some references to Robert North's article in Biblica 51 (Journal ?):

Actually the citation is about 30pp, thats a lot of typing. I doubt you will find it on the net in pdf, or any other since it is from the '70's. But in a nut shell he does a comparison of the 2 stands from Zech vision and that of the one described in Ex 25....best await the email reply and see if he has an actual copy and can somehow fax/email scanned to you...

It isn't available through EBSCOHost. Also not available on their website http://www.bsw.org/Biblica/ -- their online articles only go back to 1979. Sorry to not be any more help.
EDIT - that should be vol. 79 -- year is 1998

I know. I tried that this morning and got so excited when I found the website, but then that quickly left once I saw that they didn't go back far enough.
Thanks for trying.

I know it is a lot of pages. I looked for it on the net, but couldn't find it. I know what he does as far as the comparisons. I have about 6-8 commentaries that mention his comparisons. What I really would like (although I would like to read the entire article in context) would be to see his drawings. I have done a good bit of research as to what has been found archaeological in the land, as far as lampstands are concerned, but I would like to see his drawings and sketches and plates.

You're in Jerusalem, right? I imagine there must be half a dozen or more theological libraries in Jerusalem that has it: Hebrew University, École Biblique, PBI, the Franciscans... PBI would be the surest bet, since they actually publish it (though in Rome, not Jerusalem, I believe). I presume you know they're a little further in and across the street from Budget car rental on Paul Emile Botta? I don't expect any of these libraries are open to the general public, really, but I'm pretty sure they're no more dangerous to contact than the DTS. [:)] If you're less brave you could ask the Christian Information Centre if they know what library would be most likely to help you.
The post-1998 editions seem to be online, but that won't help you in this case: http://www.bsw.org/project/biblica.

I c and understand your desire. some years back I had borrowed the book from one who is now in the field, so acquiring the pic's and sending them is.......
If I remember correctly he had some pics of the arch's diggins and some of those that you find now in your resources...some elaborate and some crude.....[of course you have to remember that his pics were from his era and before.....]
Hope this helps...

You're a bit late... but then I guess you already knew that. [:)]
I found that PBI's library actually "is open to the public for research purposes generally from 9 A.M. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; it is recommended, however, that one phone ahead. Use of the library at other times may be possible by appointment.": http://english.icci.org.il/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=52.
Hmm, further down I read that their museum is open 9-12 Mon-Sat. If you can't get hold of them by phone tonight, it might be worth 5 NIS to check out the museum tomorrow morning and see if you can talk your way into the library. (They're quite nice; I've been to Mass there. Didn't know there was a formal museum, though. That goes on my list for a future visit.)

Send me an email at gar[dot]oneal[at]gmail[dot]com. I got the librarian at seminary to scan and send me a copy. The journal is very thick, so the inner margins didn't scan well. I think you will be able to make out most of it though.
EDIT -
I uploaded this to my dropbox site -- with our timezone differences I didn't know how quickly you would see this and then when I would get back to you.

I'll only leave this up for a couple of days.

Gary,
Thanks so much! I just sent you an email, and then I saw this at the Logos forum, and so I got the dropbox file. Thanks for going the extra mile!

Glad to help -- I hope the scan is good enough to let you see what you were interested in.

Gary,
I am looking for the same picture! I've searched all over and came across your post. Do you still have it? Would you mind emailing it to me? I'm doing a similar study. My email is chrisw[at]friendschurchyl.com.
Please let me know. Sorry for the randomness of this!
