Eerdmans Companion to the Bible

I just got the Eerdmans Companion to the Bible and was surprised that all the photos, maps, etc are in black in white rather than in color. Does anyone know if the hard copy of the book is also in black and white?

    I had a quick look at it on Google Books and the images I came across were in B&W:
