Things to look for in sentences

How can I find certain things to look for in a sentence such as, Repetition of words, contrast comparisons, cause and effect, figures of speech, conjunctions, verbs, and pronouns. Is there a certain place in logos I can go to assist me with this?

Hi Anthony,
To search and identify conjunctions, verbs, nouns and pronouns you can use what is called a visual filter below is a link to a tutorial that explains how:
How to identify repetition of words you could create a visual filter for the word or words you are looking for. You could do this for a word in English, Hebrew or Greek.
As far as contrast comparisons, cause and effect, figures of speech goes, I am uncertain that this is something the software can identify those for you. Those would be identified by carefully reading the text.
Let me recommend a book that goes over reading the text carefully. It also addresses other aspects of Bible study.
This was recommended by Mark Barnes who created some excellent training videos found at www.logos4training.com I would recommend you watch them all. They will really help you in learning the software.

Welcome to the forums Anthony.
For figures of speech:Figures of Speech Used in the Bible by Bullinger - not perfect but what we have
For sentences: Grasping God's Word (especially chapter 2) by Duvall and Hays
For discourse analysis: Discourse Grammar of the Greek New Testament by Steven Runge and Linguistics and New Testament Interpretation by Black, Barnwell and Levinsohn
Arguably About Rediscovering Expository Preaching by MacArthur and Diagrammatical Analysis by Kantenwein are also relevant.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thank you MJ on 'Linguistics and New Testament Interpretation'.
I recognized the cover but completely missed it. And it has all my favorite authors. So now it's mine. Very readable too.
