Wildcard searches unnecessarily slow

Wildcard searches seem unnecessarily slow to me. An OT search in Top Bibles for language* OR tongue* takes around 4.5s on my relatively quick machine. The search language OR tongue takes 1.7 seconds (and returns exactly the same results if you have match all forms turned on).

And while I'm at it, I find it very frustrating that you have to put search operators in upper case. I'm often finding myself with zero results. At the very least I would expect a result "Did you mean Jesus OR Christ" that I could click on to perform the correct search.

Interesting - my search took 70.25 seconds to do this search. I have not been having any speed issues, but this seems exorbitant.

Just a note, I had the NA27 as one of my top bibles and when I removed it and replaced it with another english translation, the search took 5.28 secs. Much better and a note to myself not to keep the greek/hebrew as a top bible.

Sorry for the search operator problem. It's hard because the software can't read your mind, and as many people accidentally include an "and" or "or" that they don't want considered an operator. Your suggestion about showing the alternate interpretation is a good one, and on our list for the future.

You may find "," easier than "OR":

language, tongue

is the same as

language OR tongue

I get times of 4.42 (wildcard) and 1.6 on my machine, but this was after I'd primed L4 with the original wildcard search which took over 30s!
