Hello,
I am currently doing a essay on the synoptic gospels and the function of Miracles. Is there a was I can use the bible word study and only see results from the synoptic gospels?
Thanks
Mass - Welcome to the forums!
I don't think you can limit the results of the BWS to just a section of the bible. If there is, that would be a great thing to know! Is there certain info that you are wanting to find? Perhaps there could be a workaround.
Thanks alabama24 for the fast reply.
I was just hoping to look at the different terms used in the gospels for when a miracle occurred. But I will have to do it the old fashioned way, just sorting through the BWS itself. So glad I only have to have my desk covered in half as many books.
It would be cool if they had a Topic Word Search, where the user can search a topic and see the events. IE; Miracles, parables, etc. With stats on their usage in different gospels.
Thanks again, no rush for this assignment just doing my research. Thanks.
Hi Mass,
Welcome to the forums, if you are looking for all occurrences of a particular Greek word within the synoptics the workaround for this would be to, right click on the word click on the lemma of the word and then click on 'search this resource' once the search panel has opened then create or select a search group for the synoptics and that will give you all the occurrences of that individual word in the synoptic gospels.
Thanks Paul. That helped a lot.
For this study, a BWS will almost be limited to the Synoptics anyway -- since the Gospel of John only has 7 miracles and there are only a handful outside of the Gospels.
EDIT
Think before you type, Gary. The words used to describe the miracles are used throughout the NT so my comment doesn't apply for what you are doing. I'll go back to sleep now

Morph Search Analysis can provide similar information as Bible Word Study translation rings while choosing passage.
In ESV, opened Luke 6:7, then right click on heal, clicked lemma, then opened "Lexham Analytical Lexicon to the Greek New Testament" looking for cognate words. Next did a Morph Search for those cognate words using a Bible Collection plus choosing Gospels for passage. Then used Analysis to group by lemma, result (translation or Greek word), and Bible:
