error installing update

This morning when I started L4Mac, I was told there was an update. When the update downloaded it gave me the message to click to install. When I did, it said there was an error installing the update. Each time I start Logos I get the message that there is an update ready to install.When I click OK I get the install and relaunch button. When I click that button I always get the following message that an error occurred in installing the update.

Same here. The first time logos tried to install it, the installer crashed and i had to force both the installer and the actual program to quit, and after that it is trying to instal at startup, but can't

I have not had a problem with this. Then, I moved on the 4.5c Beta.

However, you might try a manual install. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/49812.aspx

My thought is that the update you have installed is possibly corrupted. By manual update, I do not mean "Update Now".

The link (this link) I included in the post will download 4.5b SR-2. You then need to drag it to your applications folder to replace the copy currently there.

I had to employ this method of updating a couple of times in the past under circumstances similar to those you described in the original post.

This did not work, either. Neither the installer nor the downloaded file (I followed the link you offered above) worked properly. I've tried mounting the install file directly from the Finder, and I've tried using the disk mount utility that's part of OSX. To no avail. In fact, the installer that Logos downloaded automatically at least gives me an error message. The file I downloaded and attempted to install manually does zip, zero, nada, zilch.

My version of the software reports this under the "About..." link: Logos Bible Software 4.5b SR-2 (4.52.0.2202)

The current stable Logos 4 Mac release is 4.5b SR-2 (4.52.0.2202).

This did not work, either.

Please elaborate what is not working.

Bud, when I downloaded the file it showed up on my screen as a "disk." When I clicked on the disk (or double clicked I don't remember which) a window opened to the left of my screen which had the Logos icon and the application folder icon. I dragged the Logos icon to the application icon and the installed took place. Since then everything is working fine.
