In LIne "Display" in NIV window

I have noticed that since the latest update, the inline display in the NIV appears every time I start Logos. This is a bit irritating.

I have tried turning the inline display off, and then closing Logos and restarting, but this does not work. In line display is there every time.

I have tried trying off all the Display options except 'surface' - and one again, it's all there when I restart.

Can you advise me how to change the settings so that the in line Display os turned off by default?

I am using Logos for Mac, Logos Bible Software 4.5b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194)

Welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles.

Are you using a layout? What happens when you create a new layout and turn off the inline display? If that doesn't work, can you give a screen shot with the options you have chosen, like I have done?

Since using stable Logos 4 release, one suggestion is contacting Logos Technical Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact

The current stable Logos 4 Mac release is 4.5b SR-2 (4.52.0.2202)

The other suggestion is enabling, then posting diagnostic log files (in a compressed archive) for Logos user and employee comments. The log files should provide contextual insight about NIV display preferences.

Could enable diagnostic logging, restart Mac, launch Logos 4 Mac. If crash repeats, then compress log files and attach to a forum reply.

Optional: download and use 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.

Also wonder working offline affects NIV display settings ? launch Logos 4 Mac, then quickly press and hold command key until Sign In appears (release command key), then click “Work offline”, followed by opening NIV, change Display, close NIV, then open NIV again to see if Display changes were kept. If so, close Logos 4 Mac, then open again to Work offline, followed by opening NIV to see what is displayed.

One possibility for NIV display preference reverting is sync partially completing, which would show in diagnostic log files.

Hey there Alabama24,

I had previously tried the 'save layout' option, but to no avail.

I also tried starting in offline mode, unchecking the Inline option, and restarting of offline mode. No luck.

Here's my screenshot:

Restarting in any mode after making this change will show NIV looking like this:

Nice info, but irritating.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Did you use the paper clip icon to attach? Then click the "choose media" (see second screen shot), navigate to your screen shot & select it, then click "insert" (see second screen shot).

I am having a similar problem now with my NIV where the Display does not show in regular view below or inline. When I click the button to display the references I can see a very narrow border appear, but it will not re-size to show the contents. I am running Mac OS X, Ver. 10.6.8. Logos version 4.5b SR-2 (4.52.0.2204).

This problem is the same in both NIV versions, but works fine in several other bibles

First image above is a screen shot of the NASB selected and the resources turn on (opened).

This second image above is of the NIV Bible with the same panel turned on, but it does not appear. This is where a very small border appears at the bottom of the panel. It is hard to see in this image.

This last image is of the same Bible (NIV) but with the display option turned off. Looks the same. In Logos I can actually see the window re-size ever so slightly when the button is clicked on or off.

I even tried to turn on the "inline" feature, but it still does not appear.

I don't think the OT reverse-Interlinear was completed for the NIV84, I know they are working on the OT for the NIV. So I think the reason it's not showing up is your passage is in Genesis. Try a NT passage to see if it works.

PJ - The NIV84 & NIV11 do not have reverse interlinears for the OT, which explains why you don't see any lexical info.

They do have reverse-Interlinears for the NT for both I just check my iPad and the lexical info which requires an RI. They are working on OT-RI for NIV11, not sure about NIV84.

Currently Logos has English Reverse Interlinear tagging for 6 English Bibles: Old Testament and New Testament (AV 1873, ESV, NASB95, NKJV, NRSV, and KJV) plus 4 English Bibles with New Testament (LEB, NIV, NIV84, and NLT):

Logos has a Apocryphal pre-publications => English-Greek Reverse Interlinear of the NRSV Apocryphal Texts and => Greek Apocryphal Gospels, Fragments, and Agrapha

Personally dreaming about more Reverse Interlinear resources so can use Morphological visual filters (have a number of Greek ones enabled in the New Testament).
