I have a question about Passage list

Is it possible to change the verses into another language e.g. sure I can perform passage list in Amharic in the passage list, but when I transfer it to Word document the verses are in English , but what I want is ,without using "find and replace" to show up the Amharic verse instead of the English verse . Is there away doing it automatically?

I believe that you would need to set your default text to that language in the word document, maybe also set the citation to that font as well…

Sorry I don't understand.

I don't have an Amharic Bible but when I have a Passage List set to display verses from NA27 it is Greek which gets copied into a Word document.

What am I missing in what you are trying to do?

Are you using the "Print/Export..." menu option from the Passage list menu?

When I use that, it exports whatever version that I had set the passage list to display.

For example:

If I set my passage list to use the Latin Vulgate (VUL) instead of my default translation by entering "VUL" in the field at the top of the passage list, it displays Latin for the passages:

Then, I select Print/Export from the panel menu to bring up the Print/Export Window:

From the Print/Export window, I select "Rich Text Format (Word, etc)", save the RTF file, and then open that file in Word. And the passages are in Latin, just as I had selected them:

Todd I have done exactly like what you have done, but I want to have the verses in Amharic like the one I have shown in the screenshot auctomatically.(I have done this by search and replace)

Do you have an Amharic bible in Logos? Can you use it for the passage guide display? I don't have one, so my example used the Vulgate instead. But you should be able to display the PG in Amharic, and then do the Export. Can you not do so? If not, show us a screenshot of the passage guide with Amharic, and also the Print/Export window that you get from the passage guide.

Yes I have an Amharic Bible which I created from a docx file into a PB (tagged as a Bible, setting the language as Amharic).

The PG recognizes my Amharic Bible as you see above.

When i create a Passage List and export to Word i get the following as shown below:

As you can see above, I would like the Bible book names to appear in Amharic. The book names appear in English when I export the PL to Word.

My friend Steve has helped me when I built the docx files for the Amharic. One of the docx files is shown below:

Steve tells me that L4 cannot recognize Bible book names in Amharic in the tagging inside of the docx (at least to his knowledge). He also tells me that the Amharic versification is slightly different than what L4 can recognize.

So do you (or someone else) know how to get my Amharic PB Bible to use the Bible book names in Amharic?

Also another question/possibility, does someone have a Word macro which i could run to change Bible book names in English to be in Amharic? Search and Replace is quite tedious (for instance in the PL exported to Word, I have dozens of different Bible book names in that docx). It would very heplful if I had a macro which would read throught the docx and replace any Bible book name from English to Amharic.

Sorry I do not, but I assume the book names are based on the user interface "Language" setting in the Program Settings window (which is pretty limited).

My guess is that the only book names recognized by the PB compiler are the ones in the supported UI languages.

Secondly, the only book names displayable by tools windows are those in the currently selected UI language, so even if the PB could recognized the Amharic names, it probably wouldn't display them unless there was an Amharic UI setting. I.e., my French bible displays English book names in the Passage List when using the English interface, and it displays Spanish book names when using the Spanish interface.
