I opened Logos (4.5c Beta 1) and right after opening, it will crash. Here are the logs. Any help would be appreciated. I have not tried to start to a blank page yet, but that will be next. If it works, I will update.

Opened it to a blank layout and it did not crash. Tried to load a previous layout and it crashed. Here are those logs.

Tried to load a previous layout and it crashed.
Have you tried more than one layout? The layout could be corrupted. Have had that in the past, but not recently.
Jack,
I have tried 5 different layouts (some old and some new). Crashed immediately after loading each one.
Is any resource common to all five? I don't read logese, so I cannot help you there.
I am not sure how many are but would say only some Bibles might be: KJV, NKJV, ASV, and possibly ESV. There would not be any other books common to all. I was able to load the KJV (apart from a layout) but have not tried the others (yet).
Might look like it is the NKJV. I was able to open all the other Bibles, but when I went to open the NKJV it immediately crashed (tried it 2 different times). I am not sure how you delete a book and reinstall it, so if someone could help along that line, I would appreciate it.

Michael - I tried looking at your logs, but they are beyond my ability. It actually looks like logging isn't properly enabled. You might want to download KS4J's script to enable logging: 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip
Have you tried turning the internet off and open the NKJV?

Observation: Indexer.log file has many lines:

Note: the applescript application uses the terminal commands in wiki => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac
Keep Smiling [:)]
I am not sure why it would show that it was not enabled as I followed the instructions from the wiki as when I started the program each time I would hit the command key and bring up the initial log-in screen.
Having said that, I used the script to enable logging so here are the logs from that one.

There was a bug introduced that made the "command key one-time logging" not work.
I'll take a look, but you may have to wait for someone more experienced.
Alabama, that is why the logging was not enabled. Sorry I missed that.
Here is another log and will try to load NKJV while in offline mode in a few minutes. (I wish I knew how to read them, but just looks like jumbled up letters to me <s>).
6607.Logging.zip
Just tried to load NKJV offline and it crashed again. Seems that the NKJV is what is causing my problems. Will get to my laptop and delete the NKJV from my layouts and see if it works that way.
I tried reading the log, but it was just a jumbled mess of letters to me too. [:)]
My best guess, based on the "mess of letters" I did understand, is that there is a problem with a community note. Have you been experimenting with community notes & faithlife?
I have been adding a lot of notes, but if one got into community notes it was a mistake.
After deleting NKJV from my layouts, everything seems to be working fine. Thus, it appears to me that the problem is with that file.
Using the command key only enables Logos4.log diagnostic file creation. The Logos 4 Indexer uses the parameter list (plist) value for logging.
Wiki Mac and PC User Interface Differences has => Feature Parity that includes:
For Beta testing, personally have Logos 4 logging enabled so can look at diagnostic logs when something surprising happens; also create folders and move log files after closing Logos 4, which can be helpful when want to look at older logs.
Just as a followup, I went to my laptop and hid the NKJV. Came back and started Logos and made sure it was hidden here. I then tried a layout that had crashed previously and it worked fine (even though there was a tab for NKJV but it was blank so deleted the tab).

If you unhide the NKJV, L4 should download a fresh copy next time you restart.
Thanks Jack, I was thinking that was the case, but was not positive. I will do that tomorrow.
